‘Air Force 2’ got her first official run as part of an AJT’s Corporate Day up at Springfield Adventure Park today. Bit of tail wind downstream and head wind upstream. It handled them both with flying colours!

It's official!
Today Maritime NZ has granted us a certificate to operate the only commercial passenger airboat in New Zealand. It's been a long haul getting here but we're proud to have made it and look forward to Alpine Airboats becoming an important part of the Alpine Jet Thrills business as we move ahead into uncertain times for tourism.
Thanks to everyone for the enthusiasm shown in getting this project up... especially Robyn who has long suffered my passion for this unusual form of river transport!
Here's 'Air Force 2' up at the famous Waimak pylons for the first time with Paul Vernel at the helm building his endorsement hours up!
We'll have an offical launch next week so stand by for that!... meantime if you're interested we'll be operating on the lower Waimakariri River in Christchurch through the school holidays.

Pleased to say 'Air Force 2' passed her Maritime NZ vessel certification under Rule 40. Thanks t the team at Able Ships for guiding us through the process to certify the first passenger carrying Airboat in New Zealand.
We've submitted out SOP (Safe Operating Plan) to Maritime NZ and fingers crossed we'll get the green light on that shortly... watch this space!

'Air Force 2' is getting close to official lift off. Early trials are proving how popular the Airboat is and recent certification of the specially designed and built hull has been granted by Martiime NZ.
