Epic start to the Year 2025

Imagine you're living on a planet where the sky is dominated by not just one Sun ☀️, but thousands or even millions of them. Would you ever be able to sleep? That is exactly what happens inside of globular star clusters, where countless stars are tightly packed together into one big ball of stars. This is a view of cluster 47 Tucanae, as seen 😎 live by our guests during last night's Astro Experience.

Takapō Regional Park is truly gorgeous 🤩 - by day and by night. This party had such a blast stargazing with us, that a few days later we had the pleasure to also welcome their friends !! 👊

Looking back on a fun week welcoming, hosting and guiding guests from Austria, France and Japan. We had a chance encounter with the Chair of the Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark Sky Reserve Board. And we feel honoured to have delivered our first experience to an undercover Olympic silver medallist 🏅😮 !!

Being an Olympian is not a requirement to participate in our stargazing tours, though. Everybody is welcome! All nationalities and (nearly) all ages – including families 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 with kids aged 6 and above.

Pictured here is a lovely, happy couple who booked the shared Astro Experience with us but lucked out and ended up getting a private tour under a perfectly clear and starry sky. 😄

Who needs a big sun hat 👒 for the cold winter nights? We do! Our two telescopes do a good job of making the invisible, visible 🤓. The smaller, but mighty smart telescope will reveal stunning colours and incredibly fine details of deep sky objects such as gas clouds and distant galaxies. Here, the dusty brim of the aesthetically satisfying Sombrero Galaxy comes out nicely. A hat-shaped, true wonder in the night sky!
