What a night , 27 combatants , 4 super soldiers and a trigger happy drop ship crew . Sorry for the six sick combatants that couldn’t make it hope you all feel better soon . Well congratulations to Eagle (AHB) , Ghost (AHB) and Mist (AHB) for winning the first Pitch Black , each receiving the Pitch Black certificate and a Tourniquet . A Big thankyou to the team that made Pitch Black happen Ronin , Rooster , Colossus and Swan . Thankyou to the sups Reaper , Deisel, Sparky and Nick, Great job guys .
There are a few Photos that will be posted later , unfortunately cameras don’t work so well in the dark, something we will look into for next time.
Rite more importantly Pitch Black Two is coming , date to be confirmed but it will be after daylight savings and a lot will change so don’t miss it.
One thing you can count on is Ivan the LMG will return for Pitch Black 2.

It was great to catch up with Airsoft Sports New Zealand today.

Troops were assembled and the team was eager to move out. Loading up two transports the advanced party headed south at 12.30 with the remainder of the two fire teams traveling later in the day.
Arriving at tangimoana at 4, Base camp was quickly assembled, and the pre-match festivities commence on a chilly and windy Friday night. The rest of the teams had checked in with base camp by 8.30.

Up early due to the rooster, the team checked gear and loaded the transports. Along with RuB Core , CTA and other Airsofters , 35 combatants headed for the battle zone in convoy.
Unloaded and geared up a safety briefing was given, then the march into the battle zone. The zone was a forestry block with undulating terrain, light bush and open areas, higher ranging guns were the call of the day. AHB was fortunately keep as a team. the first two games were a version of force back. On the first game AHB were the aggressors’ capturing bases as we advanced.
The second game saw us reverse rolls becoming the defenders being pushed back.
RuB Core put on an excellent lunch then we moved into phase 2.
Phase 2, bring on the battle truck, grenades and RPGs. Splitting the attacking force in two, a foot patrol moving up one side of the field while the truck supported by infantry moved up the opposite side, both groups taking bases as they progressed, then joining up for the last push. I can confirm the RPGs work well and do hurt just a touch after taking one to the head. Again in this game longer range guns were key, and with some very good Snipers operating in the field good cover was essential.
A great day was had but all, we walked out of the zone and loaded up to return to base for an after-match drink or 3.

No rooster, but a great sunny morning to have breakfast and pull-down base camp. Transports pack we hit the road at 9.

Good Morning all,
Following yesterdays announcement, that NZ will be going into level 3 as of midnight on the 27th of April. The ASNZ committee spoke about what level 3 means for Airsoft and unfortunately, level 3 does not permit us to participate in Airsoft events.
The upside to level 3 for Airsoft related activities is retailers are allowed to trade again, so this is a good opportunity to support local business and fellow airsofters. Tinker with gear and prepare yourselves for the first club days back.
