Hanmer is famous for it's thermal hot pools, forested hill walks and cycling tracks and is also the gateway to the Molesworth High Country Station.

As most of you will no doubt know, and indeed, maybe even one of the reasons that you may want to come to New Zealand, is that the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit movie trilogies were all filmed here. (We know thereโs some big fans out there!)
Attracting around 650,000 visitors per year, all of whom are eager to share the โHobbitonโ experience. The amazing set is spread over 14 acres of the land, with 44 Hobbit Holes, the great Party Tree, Bagshot Row and the Hobbiton Mill, Green Dragon pub and the double arched bridge.
