Riders Rest here in Ruakaka would like to offer Te Araroa - New Zealand's Trail trail walkers an accommodation deal for the 2024/2025 season.

$80 per night for a studio room with very comfortable Queen or King bed and modern ensuite.

Meals can also be supplied and washing machine and dryer available.

We can pick you up from the Reotahi to Marsden Point water taxi drop off leg of the walk and the next morning drop you back at the beach at Ruakaka.

We thought we would make the most of the great weather by closing Riders' Rest down for this week to get our driveways concreted; so you road riders out there don't need to worry about slip sliding in the gravel anymore. 😏

A huge thank you to Steve Cargill Concrete Contractors for the great service thus far. We look forward to our next group of riders being the first when they arrive on Saturday.

GUEST REVIEW: The Lodge at Riders' Rest was absolutely stunning and so peaceful to stay in.

As soon as we arrived Carolyn greeted me and my partner and showed us around. She also gave us a quick guide on where some things were and how to get there.

The place was so clean and comfortable, we had absolutely everything we needed. The views were honestly breath taking, it was raining while we stayed for much of the time, but we were more than happy to stay inside and just enjoy the quiet. We also got to see this amazing sunrise.

The most amazing 21st and 2nd year anniversary getaway that I could have asked for! Would definitely stay here again if the opportunity strikes and will be telling everyone I know about it! - Jessika - August 2024

GUEST REVIEW: Carolyn was really flexible with the time of arrival as we were running late and still had the time to show us through and make sure we felt like we were at home. She ensured we were aware of all the viewing sites around and gave us privacy as well. Today marks a milestone for me; two published articles from two totally different areas of my life on the same day as well as Kel and I launching our new business venture - www.motorcycleaccommodation.nz

Published Research
In my previous life .... (when I was an educationalist for 41 years) I completed a Masters' of Education where the first published research paper has been drawn from. Published in the Journal of Open, Flexible and Distance Learning with the assistance of my friend and colleague Michael Barbour who I have always admired and feel privileged to have worked with in the field of education over the last 20 years.

MCANZ is a website that riders looking for "motorcycle friendly" accommodation with safe parking for bikes can easily find from one platform. If they are travelling throughout Aotearoa NZ they can use the platform to plan their travels.

MORE HOSTS NEEDED:
We are seeking more hosts to list their accommodation on www.motorcycleaccommodation.nz (MCANZ).

We are currently looking for a range of accommodation options to meet the needs of different motorcycle riders travelling (solo riders, 2-ups, couples, small and large groups).

We are hoping the majority of hosts will be fellow motorcyclist but we are also seeking hosts who are "motorcycle friendly".

Benefits for hosts are:

🏍You set your own prices
🏍You pay no commission on bookings to MCANZ
🏍No booking fees
🏍Riders can find your accommodation easily
🏍Save on costs in setting up your own website

Costs for hosts are:

🏍Annual listing fee

You may already have your accommodation listed on other platforms like (AirBnB etc). Listing on MCANZ does not prevent you from advertising elsewhere, but will hopefully draw your guests from this unique group of people - Motorcyclists.
