What more could you ask for on a winery tour than a cruise-shipper who’s the owner of a vineyard? Among other special clients doing our Bay of Plenty Tasting Tour, yesterday, Paul loved being with one of the owners of Long Knapp Cellars, a winery in Santa Rosa California that produces Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Sangiovese, Primitivo, Merlot, Cab franc and a Double Gold Awarded Russian River Pinot Noir.
Alan had a great day on the Kwizine tour with American clients & a young German lady staying locally. The group particularly enjoyed their tour & tasting at BeeNZ, Tim’s tastings & tour at Avocado Tours NZ & their lunch at The Village Green Bar & Kitchen at Omokoroa.
Earlier in the week, Paul was asked to finish off his Kwizine Tour with a little wine &, after visiting The Minden Look Out his clients really appreciated a Kahurangi Chardonnay at the wonderful White House, Te Puna.

We’re very lucky, as our children know we love eating out, so often treat us with vouchers for special occasions. On Saturday we went to Joe’s Garage, Cambridge, with a voucher from Rodney Marston, Kelly Marston, Sachi & Jai. The lunch menu had a good lot of choice & many of our favorite wines on its wine list. The service was great. The venue is in the middle of a new shopping centre & subdivision & it was buzzing, so it has obviously already become a favorite with locals. We caught up with Sandra Webb, before coming home. It was great to hear the Webb family news & to sit in Nana’s chair, which brought back memories of the suite in its original Heaphy Terrace home! We have several more vouchers from Rodney & family & from Hilary Hunt, Leith Leith & Beauden, , and look forward to treating ourselves by using them when this busy cruise-ship season slows down a bit & allows us to do so

Thank you, Marc & Dana, for booking our Bay Of Plenty Tasting Tour for your Hens’ Party. You all looked great in your finery! What luck that, at the last venue, Salinity Restaurant,, where we stopped for a cocktail & dessert, that one of the tasks for the Hen (giving a High Five to ten people on the venue balcony) resulted in you all being shouted a shot to drink by a generous on-looker.
We wish you well for a great wedding day!

We have had tours with cruise-shippers from the U.S. & Australia over the last few days on our Bay of Plenty Tasting Tour. One of the interesting aspects of meeting tourists is finding out what they do or have worked at previously. One of our lovely ladies this week was a house-sitter for animals & had looked after, among other species, snakes & rats! Two of the men, yesterday, had worked as policemen – in different countries - so they were able to discuss the differences & similarities.
We had said in a previous post that, last weekend, Alan had a delightful couple whose company he had really enjoyed on our Kwizine Tour. The final photo is of Sarah & Ron Munro at Munro Rd., Te Puna, NZ.

At The Rising Tide, the first venue on our Bay of Plenty Tasting Tour, clients have the opportunity to choose from tastings of gin. beer or cider, so a variety of tastes are catered to. We then travel to Rotorua & ascend via the Skyline Rotorua gondola to Volcanic Hills Winery's cellar door for a wine tasting, before returning for a cocktail & dessert at Salinity Restaurant on the Tauranga Harbour Bridge Marina. Paul enjoyed the company of two personable, interesting, very-well-travelled Americans, yesterday, who were loving their trip to New Zealand.

Yesterday, we had two delightful cruise-ship honeymooners from Australia on our Bay of Plenty Tasting Tour. The tasting tour is a great present for a wedding, thank you or birthday gift. It is also ideal for a Hens’ Party or special group celebration. If required, the trip can be altered to fit in Skyline Rotorua's Stratosfare Restaurant for a lunch or dinner & of course there’s always other options like The Sky Swing!

Paul had eight friendly Australians on our Bay of Plenty Tasting Tour on Thursday. It’s always fun having a group of Aussies & the amicable banter, always in good humour, is definitely a little bit more colourful when lubrication is progressively added.
On Friday, we had lovely clients from Canada & the US, really appreciative, interested, & easy to get on with.
One of our clients had a walker & it’s always great to see how supportive the staff are at Skyline Rotorua. They’re very solicitous & slow the gondola so that cabin entry is managed very easily with no stress for the client. This makes getting up to the Volcanic Hills Winery tasting room no problem at all. In fact, people often comment when going up on the gondola & looking at the superb view over Rotorua & the lake, “This is wonderful. We didn’t expect this.”
Two more happy days showing the sights & tastes of the Bay of Plenty NZ to wonderful clients! When we look at the international news, we count our many blessings.

The Bay of Plenty Tasting Tour seems to have intergenerational appeal. Paul had eleven participants last Thursday, two families, one originally from Iraq.
It was a day of lots of conversation & laughter & everyone enjoyed their tipples & food at Volcanic Hills Winery & Salinity Restaurant.
On Friday, we had a couple booked for the tasting tour but, when they disembarked, Paul discovered that they didn’t particularly like a variety of liquor. It was decided to do a “tiki tour” visiting a kiwifruit orchard, McLarens Falls Park, The Minden Look Out, the wonderful WhiteHouse, Te Puna for lunch & Sulphur Point Marina to get the view back to the cruise-ship
Again, a very happy, sociable day with lovely people, showing them our beautiful sights.

It's end-of-year celebration time. This afternoon Alan took a group from Scan Global to Matahui Distillery for a gin-making experience & this evening Paul has Tauranga Bartercard top clients going to JackDustys Ale House in Tauranga, Tipsy Putt, Hamilton & The Bank Bar and Brasserie, Hamilton. Great ways to finish a busy year!

We had another intrepid couple go on The Swing at the top of the gondola at Skyline Rotorua today when they did our Bay of Plenty Tasting Tour. The three-seated Skyswing hoists you 50 metres above Skyline Rotorua, Hanging from your harness, with the release in your hand, you decide when to make the drop! 150kph is reached!
Dom is back on leave in NZ & his friend is about to start a new job, so they took a few days away to relax & enjoy themselves.

Last Friday Paul took Body Mechanics, Tauranga to Flatwhite Waihi Beach for their annual Christmas celebration. Flatwhite Waihi Beach is a great choice for casual dining with a great view & there's plenty of room on the beach to do team activities before you dine.

The first time we have had someone brave enough to do The Skyswing, Rotorua, while on our Bay of Plenty Tasting Tour. The swing is right at the top of the gondola, close to the Volcanic Hills Cellar Door.
