Is adding a hot tub really worth it?...
Some guests will specifically look for a place with a hot tubโฆ Envisioning themselves relaxing after a long day adventuring (or shopping) โฆ sipping wine, while the jets massage their weary bodies. Perhaps your guest is looking for a relaxing winter retreat and the thought of sitting in a hot tub surrounded by snow encrusted trees, while watching the sun set is their idea of bliss. (I know its mine!)
Hot tubs can be a massive draw card for guests!โฆ They can increase your booking rate and allow you to charge moreโฆ but is it worth it? Ultimately that's up to you, but here are some things to consider (both positive and negative) when deciding if a hot tub is right for your space!...
๐ Increase booking rates.
๐ You can charge more per night.
๐ A boost in booking rates during the slow season.
๐ A bonus amenity against local competition.
๐ You get to use it for personal use when your place isnโt occupied.
๐ Ongoing costs - including cleaning chemicals, maintenance/servicing, changing the water, and heating the tub. (Be prepared for food and drink to be spilled into the water.)
๐Time - to prepare the hot tub between guests.
๐ Extra towels will be used, and therefore need to be laundered.
๐ Guest reviews can be brutal so unless that hot tub is in perfect order be prepared for guest complaints.
