**Important Update from Immigration NZ**

Starting today, June 26, 2024:

🚫 People with an Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) in jobs classified at levels 4 and 5 by the Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations (ANZSCO) can no longer support visa applications for their partners and dependent children.

💼 What does this mean?

Partners and dependent children can still apply for their own visas, like an Accredited Employer Work Visa or an international student visa, if they meet the requirements.

✅ No change for:

- People who already have visas as a partner or dependent child.
- AEWV holders in ANZSCO level 4 and 5 roles with a pathway to residency (e.g., Green List, sector agreements with residence pathways).
- AEWV holders earning at least 1.5 times the median wage for the Skilled Migrant Category.

📝 Applications in Progress:

Current applications for partners or dependent children will be processed according to the rules in place when they applied.

1. Do I need to work for an Accredited Employer?

Yes, all Partnership (Conditional) Work visa holders must work for an Accredited Employer.

2. What is the minimum wage requirement?

The minimum wage requirement is currently $29.66 per hour unless you are working in an occupations covered by uncapped sector. However, if you are working in an occupation covered by a capped sector, then you must be paid at least the median wage.

3. Can I work below the median wage? Are there any exemptions?

Yes, certain occupations under uncapped sector are exempted and you may work below the median wage. However, it's essential to check the specific wage requirements for those occupations in an uncapped sector. Please check the link from Immigration NZ's website on this post.

4. Do I need to work full-time for an Accredited Employer if I hold a Partnership (Conditional) work visa?

No, there is no requirement to work full-time for an Accredited Employer.

5. What are the sectors covered under Uncapped sector agreements?
