Hey Everyone, just a quick question, for those who are coming on the ride this weekend, how many of you have booked at Vista Lodge in Wairoa? I had booked out a bunch of rooms and they are still available. Seems there was a miscommunication, so if you still need a room at Wairoa, ring and say you with the adventure smart group. Theres not much accommodation in Wairoa so Im not sure where everyone is staying, but there are at least eight rooms booked out at Vista. Apologies.

Hi everyone. Thanks Richard and Chris for a great day yesterday. We got to go back to Fernglen Farm and we got to ride to all the top corners of the property and have put together a fantastic ride up to the abandoned airstrip and Fernglen's finest hunting lodge :-) . Please note we will try and run this, if possible, within the next two weeks on a Sunday but it seriously needs to have a lead in including the ride day of three or four completely dry days to maximise the enjoyment of all skill levels. The tracks are all clay. As a bonus, we went as far as the Big slip to find that it had JUST been cleared, happy days. Second half of the day we rode North to Tinui Whareama/Annedale and checked out the old paper road we have done before Waitawhiti Road through to route 52, this has been under new ownership by multiple owners for a wee while now so we have contacted them all and are trying to get complete access but the top gate was still locked. If any of you remember this ride, oh how it has changed. We will post the Stronvar to Fernglen/Homewood ride when appropriate.

Hey everyone, a quick update to those coming on the "not the labour weekend"ride. Wrap up warm and strap everything down, its going to be lively. Day one is the longest day. Note there is no fuel at Ashurst at the moment (we will still meet there though for 10am) so options are to fuel up before you get there, Ashurst to Hunterville BP is around 110ks. Hunterville to Waiouru 100ks. Waiouru to Taumaranui 130ks. There is no designated lunch spot apart from coffe at Waiouru so bring snack food.
Day two Taumaranui to Hawera there is no fuel stops. I have shortened this up to around 295ks so bring fuel if you think youll need it. Lunch will be at Whangamamona pub.
Day three easy as, no fuel issues whatsoever.
See you Friday, departing Avalon Park 8am sharp !
Any questions, just get in touch

Hey everyone, just an add on to the last post regarding our October adventure ride. There is a rally happening up Taumaranui on that weekend so I have rung Alexander Motel and put rooms aside, so if you want to make sure you have a room, I would advise to ring and book now and say you're with the adventure ride group. (dont do it online). Phone number is 07 895 8501- this is for Friday 6th October.
Saturday 7th October is Avon Motel in Hawera. Again, please ring them and say you are with the adv ride group. Their number is 06 278 7144. thanks !

Hey everyone. Just a quick heads up about our upcoming Labour weekend ride, which we will be running two weeks before, like we did last year.
We are planning Fri 6th October to Sunday 8th. Most likely will be Taumaranui (Alexander Motel) and Hawera (Avon) but Ro is still working out which way to run it so the details will come out shortly of which night will be where. We will be doing a refreshed version of some of the best roads we have done before, and some new loop option for us to explore, so there will be a couple of surprises in there. Anyway, if you need to book the Friday off, you've got plenty of time to sort that out. Details to come soooooooon

Hey there Riders :-) , we are looking at doing a ride this coming Friday. The weather hasn't been to flash lately and Ro has been busy working some weekends so we were thinking this coming weekend would be a good opportunity to get out. Details will be put out on Wednesday. Fingers crossed for a sunny day.

IMPORTANT UPDATE regarding the upcoming 2023 "Easter" ADV Ride (24-27 March) Due to the cyclone wreaking havoc with road closure and repairs up Napier/Gisborne area, we have chosen to make changes to the Sunday night accommodation and Monday's ride options.

ACCOMMODATION:
Friday night Alexander Motel no change.
Saturday Whakatane no change.
Sunday - We will head back to Taumaranui via new gravel and back country roads. We have arranged that if you have a confirmed booking on Friday in Taumaranui, they are holding a room open for you for Sunday. You will need to ring and confirm your booking. When this has been done, please cancel your Napier Sunday night booking. Please note the Alexander Motel has one less room on Sunday on offer so the last person to rebook will need to go across the road which has plenty of rooms available. Any questions or problems Please let us know. We will keep you updated if there are anymore changes.

Cheers Ro & Angcam

Pack Spur and Castle Point Station ADV Ride update - Hi all, due to the recent cyclone hitting the Tinui Castlepoint Homewood area very hard with multiple slips, trees down and road closures, we have decided to stay away from this area to give them time to clean up and get back to normality and will postpone this particular event to be rerun early February. better for everyone involved. So the plan for Sunday is still on, the same meeting places and times but we will rerun a new version of our popular Ekatahuna to Mangatinoka Tui Brewery ride instead. If you are interested we will see you Sunday, weather is looking good. Any questions let us know :-) Cheers Ro and Ange-Cam
