The Temptations!! What a great night.
Never been stuck for words until Chantilly, or as the French say "Hippodrome De Chantilly"...what a racecourse, what a day!
It was Dennis's birthday after all which deserves a celebration 🍾
Tuesday greeted us with a visit to the National Horse Racing Museum; a captivating haven of knowledge and entertainment and as some of our Intrepid crew tried their hand on the racecourse simulator, laughter and cheers filled the air fuelling the friendly competition
Our love affair with all things equestrian continued as we ventured to the famed Newmarket horse training grounds on Monday and we were privileged to stand on Warren Hill as some of Britain’s greatest trainers worked their “strings” of thoroughbreds in front of us. Not at all open to the public we were, through Discover Newmarket, able to have access to such a revered training establishment and we witnessed the prowess of the equine athletes and gained insights into the artistry of their training.
Our journey truly kicked into high gear with an unforgettable outing to Epsom Downs on Oaks day, where we were graced with an exclusive private box in the prestigious Duchess Stand and revelled in the lap of luxury while being treated to silver service fit for royalty. Incredibly, our private box was right above the finishing post and parade ring so our view was unsurpassed and as the thunderous hooves pounded the turf, our hearts raced alongside them. Indeed we were privileged to see incredible champion jockey, Frankie Dettori, guide Soul Sister to victory in the Oaks and witnessed his incredible “star jump” victory celebration.
Today we explored Newmarket, considered the birthplace of thoroughbred horse racing and the largest breeding center in the UK.
The passion of the crowd is something else..
We asked Frankie Dettori to win the Oaks for Epic Journeys...and he duly obliged
