Our beautiful Tamariki School, Kenya.. All ready and waiting to welcome our school community on opening day next week.. new beginnings in our new peaceful rural "forever" home, where our neighbours are chickens, goats and cows ❤ Can not wait to visit with my tour guests this year..

It's summer time here in New Zealand and this is home 🌞🌊⛱ Our days pretty much centre around the beach with lots of walking, swimming, boating, fishing and picnicing here during these months! We had such a fab day at Kapiti Women's Expo yesterday. What a hive of activity it was with loads of gorgeous exhibits, busy-busy traffic, lots of lovely chats and many connections made too 💕 I was very lucky to have a couple of my crew with me to make the day a lot of fun 😍

#Wildlife #Wednesday GIRAFFES 🦒 Did you know.. 🦒Giraffes are only found in Africa. 🦒A group of giraffes are called "towers" (I wonder why? 🤭) They sleep both standing up and lying down, for just around 4 hours a day and in short 30 minute naps. 🦒They have incredibly long tongues, approx 45cm long! 🦒Their spots are unique to every individual giraffe, just like human fingerprints. The spots also help in regulating body temperature. 🦒Because of their incredibly long legs, they have to splay their front legs right out to reach down to a watering hole.. even with their exceptionally long neck. 🦒In East Africa there are 4 species of giraffe all differentiated by their body colour and size/shape of their spots.

Happy World Elephant day 🐘 It's a beautiful sight to see elephants strolling freely across the savannah and the fact that poaching numbers have dropped is very reassuring ❤

We'll be waving kwaheri to all my fabulous tour guests today as we've come to the end of our 21x day East African Adventure 2023 already!. Been thinking of the many truly AMAAAZING experiences and beautiful memories. 🐾 we visited our beautiful Tamariki Education Centre (of course!) in its forever home.. and planted fruit trees 🐾 we cycled through a national park spotting zebra, giraffe, warthog, gazelle, impala 🐾 we walked with the Maasai 🐾 we stayed in some truly stunning locations in Kenya and Tanzania 🐾 we learnt how to make good coffee 🐾 we stayed high up on the slopes of Mt Kilimanjaro with the Chagga people 🐾 we safari'd loads through some of the world's most famous and breathtaking national parks 🐾 we witnessed stunning sunrises and sunsets over Africa 🐾 we stayed in a whole range of accommodation places including safari camps, banda huts, a guest house, a home stay, a beach resort, a safari lodge 🐾 we completely chilled out at a remote beach resort for much needed R n R 🐾 we game drove, spotting so so many of Africa's iconic animals .. saw the BIG 5 over n over n over again 🐘🐒🐆🦓🦏🦒 🐾 we indulged in meal after meal of delicious food 🐾 we visited and supported many local community projects 🐾 we shopped .. a lot! 🐾 we listened to many many stories from the local people 🐾 we meandered through the streets of beautiful exotic Stonetown on Zanzibar Island 🐾 we swam in the pristine waters of remote hot thermal springs while tiny fish nibbled at our feet 🐾 we lay in bed in the savannah listening to the sounds of hyena, lions, hippo and other wild animals as they roamed through our camp at night 🐾 we walked in tropical jungle 🐾 we sang and we danced with the locals 🐾 we wandered around a spice farm learning about spices and their medicinal purposes 🐾 we visited a tortoise sanctuary and met one of the oldest living tortoise on the planet 🐾 we hot-air ballooned over the very vast Se

Every day at 3pm the beautiful ladies at Kazuri Beads stop their work to sing and dance to give thanks to God for the day and life ahead ❤ Kazuri Beads provides employment for approx 50 single mums. Love visiting this amazing community project with my guests so much.
