One of the most unique museums to visit is in Te Aroha. Full of history, I believe that larger museums don’t offer the personal knowledge and interaction of smaller museums.

Welcome to Firth Tower, one of our most visited virtual tours.
The Tower is just one of the many historic buildings located in the Firth Tower Museum Matamata, in Matamata.
Unfortunately, due to Cyclone Gabrielle, the tower has been damaged, and is unable to be visited…..unless you have a handy dandy virtual tour!

Whilst it’s not a museum, I fully believe that the Hawke’s Bay Opera House deserves a post on this page. Such elegance and class surely needs a mention.

Located just 5 minutes from Tirau, is the Tirau Museum, which to me, is more a cabinet of curiosities, where every time you turn a corner, there is an object that you haven’t seen since you were a child, or something your grandpa told you about.
When I say that there’s something for everyone, young or old, it’s not an exaggeration!

Well, we are proud to present the full-immersion, virtual reality tour of the Napier Prison. Not all of our history is pretty, but that doesn't make it any less interesting. Napier Prison is perhaps the most iconic prison in the country, and still attracts visitors from both on and off-shore.

This week we had the privilege of scanning one of the countries most iconic sites. While the Napier Prison may not be the most beautiful site in the country, i'll lay odds that its one of the most well known sites, and for me personally, it will always one of my favourites.

The Virtual Tourist
When I created Virtual Tourism New Zealand, it was to help those in the tourism industry affected by COVID, and we are still moving forward.
Last year, we created an Omni-Map for the in Auckland, and it has had 55,000 views since March 1, 2021!
So, Im very happy to announce that we will be returning to scan the remaining structures, this time with the help of the !
Im very proud of the work that we have been able to achieve, and we haven't even scratched the surface!

I love the north. Down to earth folk, generous and fun people, and home to one of the most beautiful, historic houses that we have scanned.

Ok, when I was a kid, I was terrified by mannequins(thank you Dr.Who).
Thankfully, these ones are way better than the tv shows old.
This is the Stirling Wing at the Kauri Museum. Apparently, every manikin represents a actual person!

Well, another insane month (so what else is new 😂).
Just received the approval to head back down to our nations capital to scan a few historical buildings and 12 of Wellingtons community centres, then in April, something REALLY BIG (shhh, I can’t say just yet, but this place has always been my second home, and very historic).
The Seatoun Village Hall and St.Christopher’s in Wellington is just one of our historic sites in February.
Earlier this week, we scanned one of the coolest museums. The Kauri Museum, in Matakohe, is one amazing tourist attraction.
Management has asked that we don't release the virtual tours just yet as the want time to put them on their website too. That doesn't mean we can't give you a taste of what's to come. (and a few more awesome museums and properties up North to come. Watch This Space).
Well, after nearly 12 months including lockdowns etc. for planning, and a 4 hour drive, We are finally in Paparoa, scanning the beautiful Kauri Museum!
