Year-round services to Bali! Whoop de Whoop!!!

"Air New Zealand is pleased to advise that we are now operating a non-stop service from Auckland to Bali year-round. Yes, finally all year!!! no peak season - Not everyday but hey we cannot expect that right!!

Breakdown of our Denpensar services
• April to end of October – between five and seven flights per week.
• November to mid-February – three flights per week.
• Mid-February to end of March – two flights per week.

A reminder that everyone travelling into New Zealand needs to complete a New Zealand Traveller Declaration (NZTD).
It’s free and available in multiple languages when completing a declaration on the NZTD website ( www.travellerdeclaration.govt.nz) including English, te reo Māori, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional scripts), Hindi, Samoan, Fijian, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Tamil, Tongan, and Portuguese. These languages will also be added to the NZTD App over the next few months.
If you are a frequent flyer, you can now set up a personal profile using the NZTD App which means your personal information is pre-populated into each new declaration!

In light of recent events with the flight of SQ321 encountering severe turbulence en-route I had to answer a very sensitive question in regards to someones fear and anxiety with that routing for their upcoming trip. I thought I would share in case there is anyone else who is fearing their upcoming trip.: Please share your thoughts. Travel safe!

"I understand your concerns, especially if you are not so keen on flying. It is a tragic incident that happened. Unfortunately it was right when a meal was being served so a number of people did not have their seat belts on. Seat Belts are recommended at all times when seated. Given that there is between 8000 and 13000 planes in the air at any one time, accidents are very minimal in comparison. With anything we do, we have to try and minimise our risk. Wear seat belt where possible and adhere to the safety standards.

There is no control over the weather patterns and clear turbulence is unpredictable and there is no indication that it will happen and when. Changing route will never guarantee no turbulence. Airline staff and pilots do all they can when there is Turbulence and train highly for these circumstances. Unfortunately the person who died in this instance, died from the danger of the situation but not from injury of the situation.

If you are able to, grab some Magnesium and take an hour before your flight. This will help to reduce the stress of the flight for you and keeps the nervous system in check.
If you read, take a really good easy read (one that is easy to focus on) or watch a movie to relax you so you can sleep for a bit. (For sleeping I recommend getting some ear plugs and a mask, it definitely helps me to block out the surrounds and sleep a bit better. I hope this helps and you have a great trip! (::)"

You will no longer have to remove liquids and laptops from your carry-on bags for security screening on international flights from Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch.

New Computed Tomography (CT) scanning machines will create high-quality 3D images that allow aviation security officers to more quickly assess baggage, while still maintaining strong security measures.

Passengers travelling with camera film now need to pack their film in checked luggage to avoid damage from the CT scanner.
