It's never fun to get a flat tyre! But today's experience was a reminder that there are some wonderful people in this world. Huge thanks to Davie at Repco Lyall Bay for his excellent advice, to the lovely guys from Apex Electrical who stopped to offer help, and to Tali and his team at Goodyear Autocare in Vivian Street for their speedy work to get our vehicle back on the road in no time at all. You guys rock 🙂

We are privileged to meet some truly lovely people, and Rodney Bell is certainly one of them. An award-winning dancer and performer, he's been in Wellington recently for meetings and for the Aotearoa NZ Festival of the Arts (the photo below is from 'The Air Between Us', performed with choreographer Chloe Loftus - photo credit SMB Creative). Best wishes for your upcoming international touring, Rodney; we look forward to seeing you next time you visit the capital 🙂

Making your special Christmas cookies this year?
Driving Miss Daisy can take you to get all the goodies you need to make the perfect Christmas treats!
Each year this Christmas bow appears at a property near one of our school drop-offs. Thank you to the home owner for the joy your gesture brings to all who pass by!
It can be hard for our loved ones when they are longer able to drive.
Everyone wants to stay connected with their friends and families, maintain their independence and continue to do the things they enjoy.
To address this issue, Age Concern New Zealand with support from Driving Miss Daisy, have produced the revised “Life Without a Car” booklet.
The booklet is designed to empower older people and their families with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about transportation, and mobility options.

Wellington's Lady Norwood Rose Garden and Begonia House (along with Picnic Cafe) is always a favourite with our clients. Our little one this morning had great fun exploring, and interacting with mama duck and her babies. It made me laugh that the drain in the Begonia House was as interesting as everything else!

What a fabulous day it's been! Today we were privileged to share in celebrations to mark the birthdays of our oldest client, and of our youngest client. Dot (with Julia below a few weeks ago) turns 100 tomorrow, and Rose (with Sheenagh today) has just turned 1. Thank you Dot, Rose, and your families, for including us in the celebration of these very special milestones. We wish you much love and look forward to many more happy times together💙💙💙

Hard to believe this is the same harbour that was too rough on Thursday for the inter-island ferry to sail! Our Daisy dog Leo certainly prefers today’s conditions 💙

My story....
Hi, my name is Therese Lloyd, the proud owner of the Driving Miss Daisy Wellington City franchise, since 1st March 2017.
Apart from my OEs in Australia and UK in my youth, I have lived in Wellington for most of my life, marrying and raising our family in the northern suburbs.
My work life over the past 40 years has been varied, having mainly worked for large corporations in the early days, then with smaller organisations, as an Accounts and Payroll Administrator.
My work life over the past 40 years has been varied, having mainly worked for large corporations in the early days, then with smaller organisations, as an Accounts and Payroll Administrator.
When the opportunity to own this Driving Miss Daisy franchise presented itself, it was as if ‘all the stars had aligned’ for me as I honestly couldn’t think of anything else I would rather be doing at this time of my life than giving something positive back to my wider community and making a real difference in people’s lives, while having fun and making new friends along the way.
The training, vetting and qualifications that I, and my drivers, require to become “Daisies” ensure that our clients are in safe, reliable care when their own friends or family can’t be there for them. We are a pre-booked service and offer a friendly and caring companion driving service which helps to give our elderly and disabled clients back some independence and this, in turn, helps enrich their lives. We love taking them on outings, helping them with their shopping, assisting with hospital appointments, whatever makes life easier for each client. We’re there for you.
