Excellent progress continues and we appreciate the care boaties are taking as they head out to deep water through the harbour entrance.

Thanks everyone for checking the info at the boat ramp before you head out. And don't forget the Coastguard info evening on Tuesday to make sure you know the ins and outs of it before you hit the water (details on previous post).

Just a reminder that there will be daytime closures for SH2 Waioeka Gorge starting this Wednesday (18 October).

Waka Kotahi has advised that SH2, between Waioeka Pa Road and Matawai will be closed from 8am - 5pm, Wednesday 18 to Friday 20 October 2023 (3 days) and again from Tue 24 Oct to Fri 27 October (4 days), due to resurfacing works.

There will be limited opportunities for vehicles to travel through the gorge during this time, so please avoid the area if you can. Friday Harbour Update: For those planning to get out on the water this weekend, please stay between the red and green buoys at all times. They are there to ensure you stay safe while construction of the Harbour walls continues. The Harbour works are expected to be complete in March next year.
