King Peak Guiding NZ We're a small family owned and run outfit offering free-range hunting nation wide.

High quality experience and old age class trophy animals are what we strive to deliver for each and every hunter. King Peak Guiding NZ was formed by James Cruickshank in 2015 with the simple goal of using his international experience as a guide to set a new standard to the New Zealand industry. What really makes KPGNZ unique is the way it approaches the New Zealand hunting industry. As a guiding

service rather than a traditional outfit we give the client a chance to get to know the guide pre hunt. This takes care of the unknown factor of who you'll be hunting with as it is after all the guide not the Outfitter or booking agent who will be providing the most important part of the service. We pick the best areas and and go where the best results are at no extra cost to booking directly through another outfitter/consultant. New Zealand is an outdoorsman’s paradise and from the elite mountain hunts, to the culture surrounding hunting we strive to give you ALL the kiwi experience has to offer. We pride ourselves on being adaptable, professional, and like nothing better than working with our clients from start to finish on achieving their specific goals. Which ever adventure you decide to embark on with KPGNZ, we will give it our 100% with the goal of passing on a sense of accomplishment with what you have achieved. At the same time we try to balance a relaxed/fun energy to leave you with the ultimate hunting holiday! So if a small family run business focused on providing quality hunting with excellent success rates and world class trophies sounds like it’s for you, please don’t hesitate to contact us to see what we can do about making your dream New Zealand experience a reality!

We spotted this sika stag from several kms away with a bad limp. Wild stags in this country can be hard to relocate, but with the injured leg, he didn't go far. At the same time, the next day, we were in place to make a play.

February is a great time of year to hunt fat and hungry stags of all species. Long days make for relaxed hunting with plenty of downtime between morning and evening.

As far as free range red stags go, they don’t get much better than this, especially with the bow!

The best sika stag that one of New Zealands most accomplished hunters has ever taken. Malcolm now has more 200" sika in the record book than any other hunter. The amount of time that gets put in to finding stags like this is why most people are lucky to ever get one! -range #211

Heading in to our 3rd season without international clients this February. We've been lucky to have the support of kiwi hunters like Sam who took this old sika stag last year.

We'll be running a short season with local clients and focusing mainly on sika. In the next couple week you'll hopefully see some highlights from last season as we prepare for 2022.
