In fact, our name, Eight PM, was inspired by this very time of day. When the clock strikes eight, our founder, Ash, presses pause on his life for a couple of sacred hours, meditating on the days events with the golden flavors of a single malt or two.

The magic that is the crafting of premium whisky is something that has been passed down over generations and across centuries.
And as we all know nothing good comes easy, so it goes with whisky. The time, care and dedication put into the crafting of each bottle of whisky is one of the reasons Ash initially found his passion within the amber depths.
His discovery and inspiration with this art form led him to begin exploring other first-class spirits, and eventually brought forth the creation of Eight PM and the Naked Whisky Club, with the intention of educating people in the wide range of exceptional and unique liquors out there (just waiting to be found).
ASH’S STORY
Ash has been in the liquor business for over 13 years, and all the best years have been accompanied by the warm embrace of premium whisky.
With Eight PM he aspired to share his knowledge and love of this golden elixir (and other fine spirits), knowing first-hand how difficult it can be for Kiwis to discover the wide array of rare liquors that exist across the globe.
Ash’s thoughtful advice and personalized recommendations – given to any who join the Eight PM community – aim to guide people through this mystical art form, to help each individual pick the right pour for their taste and budget.
And as an individual with in-depth, intimate experience and knowledge of fine liquors – even having traveled halfway across the world to Scotland to smell the illustrious Scottish peat in-person – he ensures that when he gives advice, he both talks-the-talk and drinks-the-drink.
