The first scheduled/normal flight will commence August 04 between Tarawa, every Thursdays (once a week at present) and our main hub airports - Nadi, Auckland, Brisbane, or Sydney and connecting flights from there onwards. Maneiko Kiribati Travel invites one suitably qualified and outgoing person to assist with guiding a group of in bound travelers for the period of 13 July to 16 July 2018. Duties include:
1. Confirming activities in the itinerary specially prepared for the group;
2. Escorting the group to various places as prepared for in the itinerary;
3. Ensuring all activities as per itinerary are carried out punctually and professionally;
4. Ensuring safety for all is endured throughout the itinerary.
The ideal person must be a university graduate preferably with airline, travel, and tourism qualification OR equivalent also mature, able to speak fluent Kiribati and English, have an understanding of another language (a plus but not required), honest, reliable, responsible, able to work unsupervised, and is computer literate.
The person with previous experience in tourism and tour guiding will be highly considered. Furthermore, the person must be fit and healthy, and preferably a non-smoker.
This opportunity may be an opening for a more permanent job depending on performance. Salary is negotiable and depends on qualifications, and skills.

A NEW ERA FOR AIR KIRIBATI

Today we welcome a new era for aviation in Kiribati with the arrival of Air Kiribati's new Dash 8 100 series aircraft which has just touched down an hour ago at Bonriki International Airport having just travelled from Canada. This aircraft has the capability of taking up to 37 passengers, is pressurised and will have inflight cabin service. We look forward to providing more photos soon! As the first Dash 8 to service Kiribati, there will be a process that Air Kiribati now needs to undertake to obtain the necessary registrations and licencing. This includes over 100 hours of proving flights before we are able to accept our first guests. Exciting times ahead and we look forward to keeping you up to date with the information about when we start our first passenger operations.
