It's the perfect trail for any level of fitness, as it runs through the entire length of Te Awa Kairangi/Hutt River. On your ride you’ll spot golf courses, swimming holes, trout fishing spots, playgrounds, shopping, and places to grab a snack. Perfect for as many stop offs or picnics as you like! 🧇😋

What makes the Hutt Valley special is that locals are always happy to lend a hand – so right through until this Sunday a few of our local bike shops are doing FREE safety checks for your bike. A great adventure to go on this weekend, right here in the Hutt Valley is the 📍 Remutaka Cycle Trail. It is the only trail of its kind, being able to cover every type of terrain, bushes, forest, beaches, mountains, farms etc!

There are multiple access points and a variety which means there’s something for everyone – from short and sweet outings, to more challenging multi-day rides. There’s plenty to see and do along the way, too, whether you’re into scenery, history, galleries and cafes, or fancy a detour into Wairarapa wine country.

Walk it, ride it, or just stroll it. This is a scenic experience worth going for!

The New Zealand Cycle Trail

Are you out there on Wellington’s trails every week? Then this just might be your dream job!

WellingtonNZ are looking for someone to support the further development of the Remutaka Cycle Trail (RCT) which forms part of Ngā Haerenga – the New Zealand Cycle Trail.

The role is part-time (0.5 FTE), and fixed term for a duration of three years, and will include the following key responsibilities:

– Work with trail managers/landowners and key stakeholders to operationalise and implement the RCT Experience Plan

– Gather and share user insights with trail partners and stakeholders to improve business and rider experience

– Encourage and facilitate development of new trail experiences including events and the offer of additional products and the clustering of businesses to build packages making the Trail easy to enjoy.

– Coordinate work with landowners to develop, manage and promote a sustainable trail

– Work with the trail marketing sub-committee to implement annual marketing plans

– Facilitate work with all stakeholders to develop a cohesive trail story, brand, visual identity style guide and consumer proposition.

– Being the central point of contact for the RCT

– Work with the Regional Trails Framework Coordinator to leverage the investment being made in Trail development across the Wellington region.
