It was an unforgettable moment last week as Luke Brooke-Smith made his debut for Wellington Phoenix FC in the A-League, marking a significant milestone in his young football career. Just over a year ago, Luke was showcasing his talent on the pitches of the Shepparton Cup, representing Ricki Herbert Football Academy RH3 and clinching the U15 Boys competition title. Fast forward 12 months, and he’s now etched his name into history as the youngest player ever to don a Wellington Phoenix shirt in a competitive A-League match.

What an achievement this is! Luke’s story is a testament to the power of dedication, hard work, and seizing opportunities to play competitive football as a junior. His journey serves as inspiration for countless young players striving to achieve their dreams in the sport.

Luke’s rise adds another feather to the cap of the Shepparton Cup, a tournament renowned for nurturing young talent.
