The Eco Fashion Runway Show in association with Hutt Winter Festival 2019

NZ Eco Fashion is proud to announce a one evening Eco Ethical + Upcycled Challenge Runway Show for the Opening Night of the Hutt Winter Festival on the 15 August 2019 and to be held at the Lower Hutt Town Hall starting from 7pm. Utilising materials and production methods that are deliberately sustainable, ethical, and envir

onmentally friendly,

Eco fashion has become increasingly popular and no longer a niche market, but well used and promoted extensively across the fashion industry. Featuring designers from around New Zealand, as well as locally based designers, the one evening runway aims to include the following aspects.

1. Seeks to promote Eco Fashion options and make them more accessible to the local public.

2. Aims to include local talent including models, hair dressers, makeup artists and support crew.

3. To promote Local and New Zealand based designers covering all aspects of sustainable fashion.

4. To provide a showcase opportunity for local and New Zealand based home sewers, senior high school fashion students and students studying fashion design to get creative with recycled fabrics in a specially designed runway.

5. Onsite pop up shop to support participating designers with on the day sales to the attending audience.

6. A fantastic media and promotional focus for the Hutt and The Hutt Winter Festival as the NZ Eco Fashion Runways have attracted extensive media coverage. We believe that down-scaling the event from a full fashion week to the occasional eco runway will made the event much more accessible to both the public and local designers. Introducing ... The Sewing Club 💚

Next Wednesday marks the start of my very own sewing club, right here in Kāpiti!

If you want to creative, learn new skills, and make lasting connections with a lovely group of like-minded people . . . then we are the group for you!

We'll meet in my Waikanae workroom every Wednesday evening from 5:30 - 7:30 (excluding public holidays) for a few hours of collaboration, idea swapping, and sewing!

All ages, genders, and sewing skill levels are welcome. We'll work together on our sewing projects, learning, swapping ideas, and having fun along the way.

All sewing club members are welcome to use all equipment, machines, and materials in my workroom ✨

Subscriptions are only $15/week, and you can attend as many or as few meetings as you like.

It is full to brimming with artisan and eco friendly made in New Zealand goodies.

I visited the other day and it took me down memory lane to the pop up shop we did in Petone in conjunction with the 2015 NZ Eco Fashion Week runway show.
