Due to the current marina expansion and our ever increasing workload, we have an opening for another Yardperson/Labourer
Reporting to the Paint Team Leader, the primary purpose of this role is to keep the boats moving through our busy yard to ensure we can the service the increased number of boats in the area.
What We're Looking For:
• Physically Fit
• Honest and Reliable Work Ethic
• Ability to Understand and Demonstrate Safe Work Practices
• Ability to Work Independently and Competently
• Full Clean Driver's Licence
• Experience with airless spraying would be an advantage
• Experienced Forklift Operator would be an advantage
Key Tasks
• Wetsanding & Antifouling boats
• Washing & Polishing boats
• Assisting tradesman with vessel maintenance & repairs
• Forklift operating - unloading trucks
• Keeping the yard organised and tidy
• Ensure yard movements are conducted in line with the Management Plan
• Accurately checking Inwards Goods

Brian Bicknell, a Botany major whose life changed dramatically after an interview for a part-time wine store position that involved star charts and a Grand Trine. Helps with picking decisions, making coffee, cleaning dishes and generally marvelling at how much butter the vintage team seems to consume.

37th vintage, Mahi’s 23rd, still loving them and already looking forward to the next one.

Today, I'll be having a crack at the 42km Molokai Channel swim between Hawaii's Molokai Island and Oahu 🏊‍♂️

Am I nervous? Of course..

We landed yesterday, I'm jet-lagged, this time last week I was in my bed unwell, and I'm about to swim a body of water nicknamed 'the channel of bones' 😅

At 42km, it's also the longest of the Oceans Seven swims (the same as a running marathon) and is regarded by many as the hardest...

Though the way I see it, such is life...

We can't go into everything that we do with the perfect lead up or with the stars aligned.

Plus, I do love a good challenge! 😁

Whatever happens, I'll be having fun, giving it my best, and remembering the why behind all of this - to raise awareness around Mental Health.

As always, the primary aim is to get across safely, and hopefully we can also avoid those jellies, cookie cutters (described to me as plungers with blades 🙆), and any other beasties out there 😅
