Quick bread! Because commercial yeast isn’t a dirty word around here. Combining mussel broth, garlic and olive oil for your dipping pleasure.

This bloke had some mustard!
After 2 other attempts swimming at New Zealand’s Cook Strait pulled it off with the help of .
Perano head, around 2045hrs Michael jumped in the water bound for Ohau/Terawhiti coast. With all the conditions and water sometimes dipping to 12° C it wasn’t a cakewalk nor a haircut but with his Mum (Jenni) and Dad (Steve) as nutritionists (VSSR) .ltd on helm orders and loyal Don (who doesn’t really do socials) he did it. So amongst a few 🤬bombs and the thought of 🐑🥩 for breakfast around 8 hours later landfall was made and so was the journey back to Picton.

Get Spliced🐙

Replacing an anchor and chain that didn't come home. This is 12mm heatset; a nice soft rope that works perfectly on Lewmar (among others) winches.

But all rope will fray over time; enough said about why this is a replacement.

Giving Katabatic Charters NZ a hand on their new boat. Any day's a good day when you need three different ropes to get it done.

Worthy of an ice room hatch!

A couple of thimbles spliced into 8mm spectra/dyneema. If you're splicing this incredibly strong material, make sure you have the eye back spliced through the tail or the whole thing will come undone when it's not under load.

Probably the most simple rope to splice but so easy to get it wrong as well.
