OPTION A – close to town, we visit:
- A 3/4 acre semi-urban established and celebrated garden (OR a 5-years old 1 acre property developed by the textbook, with lots of colour)
- An intensive urban half-acre garden full of homemade art and surprises
- A lifestyle 5 acres establishing arboretum, flower and food gardens in harmony with nature

OPTION B – outlying from town, we visit
- An exquisite country garden in a rural valley with stunning mountain views
- A flower farm where we’ll admire flowers like kids in a lollypop shop
- An exemplary garden recently landscaped for privacy with trees and colour

Daisies are out, as well as the first roses, peonies and many new leaves! Tulips and rhododendrons are still going strong and delight our guided garden tours guests this month.

Kanzan and Shimidsu sakura are the last cherry trees in bloom. No missing out though, crabapples are continuing the blossoms show, Van Esseltine, Ballerina, Floribunda and many others malus are out now. The bees love them. We do too.

Focus on ground covers, so important in our climate to keep moisture in and weeds away. In the gardens of the tours, we observe plants that grow well and add colours with flowers or leaves, heucheras are a favourite.

We also observe different types of mulch in action in different gardens. Always something new to discover!

Featured here are anemones, h***y goat, euphorbias, lamium ajuga, a mix of lily of the valley and white comfrey, and veronica.

Hellebores are still showing off in the gardens of the tours. The flowers stay out a long time as they are sepals, strong flower part protecting the inside. The petals are the little tubular parts.
The whole plant is toxic. But so beautiful!
