We hand make New Zealand ceramics and have a Paint your own studio company just outside Hamilton. Come along and join in the fun!

Splashy is your local shop for the perfect ceramic gift, you can either paint it yourself or choose from a variety of handpainted ceramics here in our Village Hall. Great for birthday parties, team building, school trips, something to do in the school holidays or just to relax and paint something
Come in and paint a plate, a mug, a bowl or choose from our huge range of novelty items! All items are

dishwasher and microwave safe

And just remember, any items painted take about 2 - 3 weeks to fire and glaze them before they are ready to pick up or send out

We want to thank everyone for their support this year and can't wait to see you all in the new year :)

We will be open throughout the break so if you are looking for something to do come along and paint something 🎨

Our hours are the following:

24th Decemeber 10am - 2pm
25th & 26th December CLOSED
27th - 29th 10am - 4pm
30th & 31st normal weekend hours
1st & 2nd January CLOSED
3rd - 5th January 10am - 4pm
6th & 7th normal weekend hours
8th January normal hours resume

Just a video to show our wiping process after everything has been hand dipped in glaze.

• We wipe on scotch brite first
• Make sure we wipe away the prong marks
• Wipe the item on a sponge mat
• And then lastly use a hand sponge to make sure all the glaze is removed

Our processes here can be time consuming, but we make sure to do our wiping super well so that none of your items stick in the kiln :)

If you're wondering why it takes 2 - 3 weeks for your items to be ready, it is because getting them through is a process: • They first go through a bisque firing • Then everything gets hand dipped separately in glaze • Everything then gets hand wiped to remove glaze off the bottoms • Everything then goes into a glaze kiln, which takes 2 days as it reaches a temperature of 1180°C As we only have a limited amount of kilns and a lot of items to get through, this takes time, but we are always working our hardest 😀
