The final day of is here 😭

Our North Island agents are getting one last glimpse of New Zealand’s scenery and wildlife today! 🌲🐝🦋 Look out for our native birds such as the Weka, or even a Tuatara 🦎 at Zealandia Eco Sanctuary in Wellington, and then on to a bike tour 🚲 to Te Papa Museum to pack in a bit more knowledge on The Land of the Long White Cloud.

Our South Island agents are cruising into Wellington aboard the Interislander Ferry 🛳 (in the Premium Plus Lounge 😉) eagerly awaiting what we’ve all been anticipating… our farewell function in Wellington! Relax over a drink or two – this is the last hurrah with your travel buddies! 🍾🥂

2019 SOUTH ISLAND module. Sadly we had to leave the beautiful Abel Tasman park this morning with a taxi sea shuttle transfer from Awaroa Lodge to Kaiteriteri. From here we drove to Marlborough Lodge for wine tasting and lunch. Marlborough Tour Company then transported us to a Farm Experience and Taste & Tour @ Forest Estate. Then enjoyed beer tasting and dinner at Dodsons St Beer Garden before making our way to the Picton Yacht Club Hotel

NORTH ISLAND module
Day 10 recap

After a lovely night at the gorgeous Martinborough Hotel we enjoyed a lovely Village Artisan tour with Hammonds exploring the quaint Greytown with unique boutique stores, as well as enjoying some wine tasting and a delicious lunch along the way. Next stop was a guided cycle wine tour with Green Jerseys, which took us along the scenic roads of Martinborough - on various bike styles - to another lovely local winery for a spot more wine tasting and a chance to enjoy some pretty landscapes and sunshine. From Martinborough we wound our way over the Remutaka ranges and entered the capital city- welcome to Wellington!

DAY TEN

Wine lovers rejoice, we have saved the best for last! 🍾🍷 Both teams are heading to the vineyards 🍇 today for a relaxing day amongst the vines as the end of the approaches.

Our North Island crew are heading to 4 boutique Martinborough vineyards with some olive tasting thrown in there, while our South Island team are taking on the Marlborough region to enjoy a taste of what the region is known for around the world – sauvignon blanc!🥂

NORTH ISLAND module
Day 9 recap

An early and crisp start to our day as we departed the lovely Chateau Tongariro and headed for the Whanganui River. We had a quick stop at the Powderhorn Chateau, who kindly had nice hot coffees ready for us and delicious picnic lunches packed ready for our busy day ahead. Next we journeyed with Whanganui River adventures on jet boats up the river to ‘the bridge to nowhere’. A beautiful scenic walk to the bridge where we stopped to enjoy our lunch and enjoy some history of the area from the team before heading back before the rain got too heavy. This is an adventure not to be missed - a real NZ gem! After a long drive over the ranges we got to stop in at Farriers bar and eatery for some delicious wood fire pizzas for dinner before finally making it to the wonderful Martinborough Hotel to check in for the night and then onto take in some star gazing to finish off the day! I think the crew will sleep well tonight!

2019 SOUTH ISLAND module. Breathtaking is how we would describe today. Abel Tasman National Park has lived up to its reputation and the views we’ve seen today have been nothing short of spectacular. Thank you Wilson’s Abel Tasman for sharing your product and home with us. After a 2 1/2 walk we enjoyed a well deserved picnic lunch at Bark Bay before getting back on the boat and ending up at Awaroa Lodge. Every day the food has been delicious and dinner here would have been one of the best meals on our journey. The evening ended with a short walk to the beach to see the light in the sea and then back again to see the glowworms.

DAY NINE

The South Island crew are getting the best of the Abel Tasman with a relaxing cruise ⚓️ and walk 👟to discover the inlets, islands and all the wildlife the area has to offer! 🐝🌲🏖 Known as one of the most beautiful regions in the nation, they are in for a real treat today!

In case you haven’t noticed it seems jet boating 🚤 is the favoured mode of transport on this famil – and it’s no different as our North Island team head to Wanganui to take on the famous Wanganui River. As well as a bush walk 🍃 this outing will be one to remember. Then it’s the North Island’s turn for a bit of stargazing, this time in the Martinborough region. 🌌✨

NORTH ISLAND module
Day 8 recap
After a much needed sleep in at Novotel Rotorua, we went to see our friends at Huka Falls Jet for some adrenaline!

Chris Jolly Outdoors took us for a scenic cruise and lunch to see the Maori rock carvings, so beautiful even in the rain.

Stew from Adrift took us for a walk at Lake Rotoponamu, so informative and spectacular and a great option when the weather is a bit drizzly! I know a few of us would love to spend more time with Adrift and maybe even do the Tongariro Crossing.

Tonight the weather caved in so our plans changed from dinner at Pinnacles Restaurant via the Sky Waka to dinner at Chateau Tongariro with James. It’s been lovely having a chilled night in and getting to experience this glorious hotel.

27/10/2019

DAY EIGHT

Today our North Island crew are heading from Rotorua to witness the magic of the Tongariro region 🗻with a quick but beautiful walk amongst the amazing Mt Tongariro. En route however they pass through the Taupo region which won’t disappoint with an electrifying jet boat ride 🚤 to the amazing Huka Falls. But don’t worry, we won’t wear them out too much - our agents will get a chance to put their feet up with a scenic cruise upon Lake Taupo.

The scenery just doesn’t let up for our South Island adventurers, who are trading in the glaciers for the beautiful region of Punakaiki. 🌅 With the walk to the pancake rocks on the top of the to-do list, this day is a relaxing one! Then, on to Nelson for a bit of shut eye for a big day ahead tomorrow! Stay tuned…

Day 7 recap
Rotorua has so many fun activities and excursions so we crammed as much in as possible! First stop was sheep shearing at Agrodome followed by Rainbow Springs where we were fortunate enough to watch a kiwi bird hatching from its egg. Lunch and a tour at Te Puia this arvo which was so incredibly informative! Tonight we were hosted by the phenomenal team at Skyline Rotorua and Volcanic Hills Winery for a tasting and 5 course degustation dinner. Amazing day all round!

2019 SOUTH ISLAND module. Day 7 and it’s our turn for wet weather but then we are in a rainforest. Today we travelled the scenic route from Wanaka to Franz Josef stopping at Lake Matheson for lunch. Unfortunately we were unable to do the Franz Josef Glacier valley walk with our friends from Ngai Tahu. This did allow time for some to visit the hot pools, township or rest up on the comfy beds at Scenic Franz Josef Hotel. Evening finished with an amazing 5 course dinner at Te Waonui. Thank you Alicia from Tourism West Coast for your hospitality.

DAY SEVEN

North Islanders are getting the very best of Kiwiana today! 🇳🇿 Starting with the Kiwi Shearer Experience at the Agrodome 🐑 onto Rainbow Springs 🌈 for a Kiwi Encounter where you can stand in a human-sized kiwi burrow, sit in a giant kiwi egg, and see real kiwi in their nocturnal enclosure! Then on to Te Puia to get amongst the geysers and even try their hand at flax weaving. Ending the day overlooking Rotorua with a glass a bubbles 🥂 or, for the thrill seekers, luging down the mountain.

South Islanders get your hiking boots on, we are heading to the Franz Josef Glacier today to take on the Glacier Valley Walk. ❄️🧣Once we get back we will be more than ready to soak away all our aches and pains in the Glacier Hot Pools. All in a day’s work 👍

SOUTH ISLAND module. Day 6, early start in Te Anau with an exhilarating jet boat ride with Fiordland Jet. We then continued our journey onto Wanaka via the infamous Mrs Jones fruit store in Cromwell. After lunch at Edgewater Resort we split into 4 groups to experience Wanaka River Journeys, Wildwire Wanaka, Eco Wanaka Adventures and Ridgeline Adventures. This was followed by a relax in the spa pool by some at our accommodation, Oakridge Resort before heading into town for dinner and to watch the RWC game between the All Blacks & England.

NORTH ISLAND module
Day 6 recap

Wow we have had a full on and amazing day! First stop an iconic kiwi drink and photo spot in Paeroa with the giant bottle of L&P. We wandered through the Waitomo Caves to see the glow worms, lunch & a tour at Hobbiton (spoiler I heard a few people say this is the highlight of the trip so far). Tonight we are at the Distinction Hotel Rotorua but before settling into our rooms we enjoyed Tamaki Maori Village... what a brilliant cultural experience, we learnt a Haka, the Poi and ate a delish hangi.

Now off to the pub to watch the All Blacks vs England in the RWC 🇳🇿🇬🇧🏉

25/10/2019

DAY SIX

I hope we have a few Lord of the Rings fans in our North Island crew... they are heading to The Shire today to explore Hobbiton and enjoy a scrumptious hobbit-worthy feast! 🧙‍♂️🧝🏻‍♀️But that isn’t all... enroute to live out their Hobbiton dreams they will also experience the glow-worms 🐛 at Waitomo Caves, and then on to Tamaki Maori Village, to explore a traditional Maori Village and have yet another epic hangi feast. They are definitely not going hungry today! 🍽 Ending the night with a walk through the Redwoods after dark (through some dazzling lighting) our agents will definitely sleep well tonight! 😴

The South Island crew are spoilt for choice today, with four different tours taking place set amongst the beautiful Wanaka region! With everything from jet boats, 4WD farm safaris, rock climbing, cruises and nature walks there is something for everyone. 🧗‍♀️👟🚤

Day 5 recap...
Today we experienced the Coromandel and the amazing operators here! They are so flexible and easy to work with so when the wind was making our original plans hard we decided on a walk and water taxi to Cathedral Cove followed by an afternoon with Kiwi Dundee and the lost springs! Oh and I can’t forget, we dug some holes in the sand for a bath at hot water beach! Fab day over all and we finally saw some sunshine ☀️!!

24/10/2019

DAY FIVE

All aboard for a very cruise-y day – literally! 🛥🌊

The lucky South Island crew are ticking off the ultimate NZ bucket list activity – spending all day basking in the most breath-taking scenery aboard the Milford Sound Nature Cruise! 🌄 Make sure to bring a rain jacket as the boat gets so close to the waterfalls you can feel the spray!

Our North Island crew are off to the beach! 🏖Heading to Coromandel’s picturesque Hot Water Beach for the ultimate selfie in a hot pool, and then onto Whitianga to jet off on a cruise (one even has a glass bottom) to discover the wildlife! 🐠🐟Then on to enjoy a soak in the natural thermal waters of The Lost Spring... Tough day at the office 😎

SOUTH ISLAND module. Day 4 and it just gets better and better. Departing Lake Tekapo we travelled through Lindus Pass to Cromwell. Here the adrenaline kicked in at Highlands with a ride in a Porsche travelling at 180kms an hour around a racetrack. The friendly competitiveness showed with racing each other in go karts. After an amazing lunch prepared by The Stoaker Room, we continued onto Arrowtown where we met with Nomad Safaris. We experienced snippets of their product with a 4WD trip, a ride in a tesler and then an E-bike ride. The day was finished with a trip on the TSS Earnslaw across Lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak. The BBQ dinner was simply delicious. Dinner was followed by an informative and entertaining sheep demonstration. Thank you to Wayfare & Destination Queenstown. Well earned rest this evening at Novotel

NORTH ISLAND MODULE

Day 4

After a very early breakfast we left the Bay of Islands and drove South towards Auckland to visit Matakana and the Sculptureum. Some very neat art, sculptures and gardens, you could easily spend a few hours wandering the grounds.

This afternoon we travelled back into the Auckland CBD for lunch on the rooftop at Rydges Auckland, a visit to the Auckland Maritime Museum and the AJ Hackett Auckland Bridge Climb! The bridge climb is by far one of the best things I’ve done in Auckland!

We are now enjoying dinner at Castways with views of an amazing sunset! Check out the comments below for a video of the view.

23/10/2019

DAY FOUR

Our South Island team are in for an adventure day today! Think Go Karts in the Highlands and E bikes amongst the Queenstown mountains. 🚵‍♀️😎 After all that adrenaline, they will be rewarded with a wine tasting at Kinross and then jump aboard the vintage TSS Earnslaw for a farm tour, 🐄🐏completing the day with a classic kiwi BBQ Dinner straight off the grill! 🙋‍♂️

The same goes for our North Island agents who are heading back to the City of Sails to take a walk on the wild side at the top of New Zealand’s highest building - the Sky Tower. 😅💪Don’t worry – they will all be strapped in!

NORTH ISLAND MODULE
Day 3 recap!
Wet & Wild ☔️ sums up our day... and no I am not talking about the theme park in Australia! We are up in the gorgeous Bay of Islands today and started with a Waka tour with and boy was it exhilarating (and cold) but the team loved it and warmed up really quickly!

This afternoon we chilled out in Kerikeri visiting the old stone house, Ake Ake Winery and also Makana chocolate factory 🤤

P.S how good is photo number one, everyone is freezing but Georgia is just pleased to be here!

P.P.S don’t forget to post your photos to the community tab of this page for a chance to win an iPad! Most likes wins so get postings ☺️

fam 2019 SOUTH ISLAND module. Wow what a day. Started with a private 45 minute tram tour of Christchurch city accompanied by our friends from Christchurchnz. We then made our way to Fairlie where we had typical kiwi tucker for lunch - a meat pie. These weren’t any ole pies, example one was pork apple sauce and crackling, delicious. From here we continued to McKenzie Country a quick stop at the Church of the Good Shepherd before taking a helicopter flight over stunning Lake Tekapo. Couldn’t have asked for perfect weather. From our accommodation, The Godley Hotel we walked very short distance to the Dark Sky Experience and learnt about the stars before dInner @ Peppers Bluewater Resort

22/10/2019

A quick update from “the winterless north” 😂☔️

22/10/2019

DAY THREE

Today on the North Island, the crew continue exploring Maori culture with a once in a lifetime opportunity to climb aboard a 40ft Maori war waka and paddle along the river with Maori locals from New Zealand’s largest tribe. 🗺 After this relax aboard a tour of Kerikeri then settle in for lunch and a vino at Ake Ake Vineyard. 🍷🥗

After heading back to Christchurch after a day on the water, our South Island team are now heading to the beautiful Lake Tekapo! Not only will they see it from land today, they will also get to see it from the air with a scenic helicopter flight. 🚁 But the lake is not the only majestic thing about Lake Tekapo – with one of the worlds darkest skies, they also get to gaze at some of brightest stars with a hot cuppa this evening! 🌌
