𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗜𝗺𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗭𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀

INZ has resolved an issue where some employers who applied to renew their accreditation were not granted interim accreditation when they should have been. All employers who were eligible have now been granted interim accreditation, and any valid Job Check job tokens have been reinstated.

Please note, it may take up to 48 hours for job tokens to show on the Immigration Online system. If you still need assistance with job tokens after this period, please reach out to Nimita Nandsharma at [email protected] .

Additionally, INZ recognizes there has been some ambiguity about when employer accreditation expires. Employer accreditation will now be valid until 23:59 (New Zealand Time) on the expiry date. Renewal applications made up to this time and date will be granted interim accreditation if eligible. This is consistent with visa expiry dates.

Immigration New Zealand Update: Interim Accreditation Issue

Immigration New Zealand is continuing to resolve an IT issue which has meant some employers were not granted interim accreditation when they may have been eligible for this.

This issue has also meant any approved job tokens are no longer available to use.

Employers are urged to contact the customer service center for support. If your employer is a client of Aims Global or would like our assistance in this matter, please reach out to Nimita Nandsharma at [email protected] or 022 174 4084 in the first instance.

The government is allowing migrant school leavers to get part-time jobs while they wait for the outcomes of their parents' residency applications.

"We want to ensure that migrants aged 17-24 who are onshore, have completed secondary school and applied for residence can continue to contribute and live a meaningful life in New Zealand." - said Immigration Minister Erica Stanford

✅ If eligible, they will be entitled to work up to 20 hours per week during the school year, and up to 40 hours per week over the summer holiday period to align with work rights available to Year 12 and 13 students on a Dependent Child Student Visa.

🗓 This change will take effect at the end of October, with more details available in late August.

🚨 Immigration NZ Tech Blunder Affects 500 Employers and Thousands of Migrant Workers!

A major technical issue with Immigration New Zealand’s ADEPT system has left 500 employers without proper accreditation. Employers whose accreditation expired while their renewal application is being processed can continue to employ migrants who currently work for them on a valid visa.

❌ However, they cannot submit new Job Check applications, and applications for Job Checks and Accredited Employer Work Visas they have in progress are unable to be approved

Arunima D, our CEO & Chairperson of the NZAMI (New Zealand Association of Migration and Investment), highlighted the impact, stating, “Not only has this policy failed to deliver on its much-vaunted objective of preventing migrant exploitation, but it has also mired employers in unnecessary bureaucratic compliance and is now taking away from them the right to employ migrant workers that they have paid fees to Immigration New Zealand for”

Immigration NZ is working on a solution, but in the meantime, employers are urged to contact the customer service center for support.
