Great day today…for us!!
Tākaro Trails is now closed on Tuesdays for the winter season which means we can head out on the trails more.
Right now, the weather is perfect, the trails are freshly graded and so easy to ride - the time is right to get out on your bike 😊 🚴🏼‍♀️.

WAHOO - this pic looks a bit boring BUT it's definitely NOT!!

The underpass at Awatoto is officially OPEN TOMORROW. SO COOL!!!! Now we can ride straight out to the coast from Taradale wtih no diversions....this is super exciting news.

🙌 Waimarama Road - The section from Te Mata Road to Craggy Range is now completed and OPEN to the public. Thank you for your patience over the last few weeks, while the team completed the final finishings.

🚧 Brookfields to Awatoto - Onsite works will commence next week. This is a construction zone and MUST NOT be accessed by the public. Our contractors will be onsite busy working towards a reopening in April (weather permitting).

Our favourite pub is back on the Hawkes Bay Trails!
Very excited to share that the Puketapu Trail has reopened!
Jump in our shuttle and travel to The Puketapu Pub, cycle down the newly re-opened Puketapu Trail and choose from heaps of other stops along the way back to our base in Ahuriri. A great way to spend an afternoon in Napier.
You choose how long… 35km or 26km. Stop at wineries, pubs and gin bars along the way.

The World Triathlon Champs are on in Ahuriri this weekend. We have front stage seats!!! Our road is a little busy with cyclists who look slightly more serious than our usual clientele!!
They should get e-bikes eh…go even faster!

Team Takaro was in attendance The Big Bike Film Night - was a very fun night was great films. HIghly recommend anyone in NZ go and see this. Thanks Brett!

Now that is a sight!!!! Out largest turnout yet at the in , completely chocka block full with pedal peeps, shredders, cyclistas, bikey types all there to have a good time!!!!

In February we welcome HEAPS of cruise ships to Hawkes Bay. We love sharing our region with people from all over the globe.

Our popular e-bike tour includes a guided tour with our super-friendly knowledgable guides, with commentry stops and photo opportunities, and a short bus ride to visit a top local winery for a wine tasting and delicious platter.

Very cool news….yeehah!!!

🎉📣We have some exciting news!

Half of the popular Puketapu loop, along Tūtaekurī River is reopening today which will connect the trails from Taradale to Puketapu Village!

Our team have been working hard to rebuild the popular trail from Redclyffe Bridge/ Otatara Pā to Puketapu, we are thrilled to get this rideable for our community, thank you for your patience.

This will be a temporary solution while the team work to fully restore the Puketapu Loop to its pre-cyclone state.

A few pointers before you head out:

• We haven’t repaired the Turirau Culvert at this stage
• There is a 200m on-road detour at the Turirau culvert, along Springfield Road. Please follow road rules and use caution as you are sharing it with vehicles
• Only one side of the Puketapu Loop is open at this stage while the team wait for bridges and trail surface repairs
• Although this reopened section is safe to ride, it is only 80% complete. Finishing works will take place over the coming months, so please ride with caution, keep left, and stay alert for uneven surfaces.
