Headed to Virginia Beach - a beachside town built around military bases - you see the fighters jets flying over the hotels often. We loved our time here riding beach cruisers alo g the boardwalk, drinks at the rooftop bar at our hotel, multiple ice creans (31c here) and some shopping 👍👍😆😆

Washington next - such a picturesque city with tree-lined streets, gorgeous buildings and of course the history. Visited all the special places - The Whitehouse, Washington memorial, Smithsonian (huge!!), Lincoln memorial etc etc - walked for miles - something else to see everywhere you turned.

Called in to Watkins Glen State Park yesterday to do a hike, this Park is in the Finger Lakes area. A gorgeous walk - saw 19 waterfalls within 2km - the gorge trail had over 800 steps, multiple stone bridges - an ongoing project - 260 years in the making. - well worth a visit!! Niagara Falls - wow!! It was memorial weekend so crazy busy and absolutely amazingly!! We stayed on the Canadian side but visited American side as well. Highlight was the falls cruise - soaked as we were practically under the falls but incredible!! So much to Niagara!!

Made it to Toronto - Canada's largest city. We loved the waterfront - it feels like you are beside the ocean but it's's actually a huge lake. Great bars, restaurants and family areas. We of course went up the famous CN Tower including the new skypod - highest observation deck in the Western Hemisphere at 447m with great views over the city and LakeOntario

Yesterday was a day out of the cities for us, drove up to the cute town of Deep River to spend time with some special friends and then headd towards Toronto through "cottage country" - beautiful drive past many lakes with cottages dotted around. This morning we picked up a rental car and headed off on our roadie. We visited Newport on Rhode Island - such a gorgeous area , wish we had more time there. We did the Cliff Top walk, saw some incredible houses including the mansion from Gilded Age. We carried on to Kennebunk in Maine where we are staying - more gorgeousness!! Like something out of a movie - to top off our amazing day we had lobster for dinner - sooo good!!!

Would you believe there is an aircraft carrier parked on the Hudson River - the Inrepid AND it has many aicraft on and in it including the Concorde, multiple fighter jets, helicopters and a space shuttle. It's an impressive exhibition on the Hudson waterfront. The waterfront itself is a huge asset to the city - great place to spend the day !!
