Driving Miss Daisy is an approved service provider for the Total Mobility Scheme which assists eligible people, who do not drive a car or who are unable to drive, or with a permanent disability or impairment to access appropriate transport to enhance their community engagement.

This scheme provides its members with access to transport and the means to participate in their communities in whatever way they choose – helping to get people out and about; whether for work, taking children to and from school, to appointments, to libraries, shopping, volunteer activities, etc. Involvement in communities is vital for well being and Driving Miss Daisy is happy to assist you with any outing you may need. We provide more than just transport, we provide another level of companion service with every trip.

This assistance is provided in the form of subsidised door to door transport services. Our drivers will get you to and from your destination and provide further assistance as needed. We provide independence and peace of mind for you and your family, caregivers, and professional agencies. At Driving Miss Daisy, we tailor the service to meet your needs.

So delighyed to be able to sponsor the St Brigids fun day in December! 🌼

We had huge support from sponsors for this year's Fair. While most of it has carried over to next year, we decided to use some of it for the school fun day on Monday 13 December. To bring a bit of joy to a year of cancellations.

So a huge thank you to Ang & Driving Miss Daisy Wellington North for sponsoring a Super Hero Bouncy Castle. We hope the kids enjoy it!

To mask or not to mask, that is the no longer the question!

From today, it is a mandatory requirement that at Alert Level 4 a mask must be worn by ALL people (employees AND customers) at open businesses and services that involve customer contact. This includes wearing face coverings at supermarkets, pharmacies, and petrol stations. Also on public transport and at departure points (such as train stations and bus stops), on flights, in taxis and ride-share vehicles (drivers and passengers), and visitors to healthcare facilities.

It’s a good thing, let’s all get on board and do whatever we can to stamp out COVID 💪 💙

See the official COVID-19 website for further information on face coverings: https://covid19.govt.nz/health-and-wellbeing/protect-yourself-and-others-from-covid-19/wear-a-face-covering/

From 11.59pm Tuesday 17 August, all of New Zealand will move to Alert Level 4.

This measure will remain in place for 3 days until 11.59pm 20 August for all of New Zealand, with the exception of Auckland and the Coromandel Peninsula with both staying in Level 4 likely for the next 7 days.

This is a response to a community outbreak in Auckland which is currently under investigation and possibly linked to the Delta variant.

International evidence and science around the Delta variant shows that it is twice as infectious and more liable to cause severe illness.

The decision to change Alert Levels reinforces the need to take swift and robust action around the latest case to detect and stamp out the possibility of any further transmission.
