There are so many “𝗜’𝘃𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀” moments that happen all over camp, all summer long, as campers find themselves empowered to try new things. For some, that means navigating living with others, or perhaps even remembering to brush their teeth and hair every day! Others challenge themselves to try an activity that is entirely new to them, or add to their skills in an activity they tried in a previous summer. Camp gives campers the support they need to take safe risks, knowing that fellow campers and counselors are there to support them, cheering them on as they acquire new skills.⁣

Kids learn so many skills at camp but one of our most favorite values it builds and promotes is kindness. Today is 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗺 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆 and we urge you to celebrate it and . Small gestures go a long way at camp, and they can truly make a daily impact helping to make a camper’s summer special. ⁣

But have no fear - we are here every step of the way to help guide you through it all and make it more manageable. Tomorrow we are dropping our February newsletter on allll the things we love so stay tuned, but here’s some things you can do this month to help you get camp ready:⁣

☀️ Print your camp packing list - and turn it into an app! We will keep reminding you for to do this because it’s a total lifesaver. We’ll share in stories over and over!

☀️ Returning camper? Try on your old gear! Make a note of items that did not return last summer so you know what you need for Summer 2025.⁣
⁣
☀️ Rookie camper? Call your summer outfitter to schedule an appointment to start ordering apparel. Do this sooner vs later because everything takes a while and when you need things labeled or embroidered, there can be a longer lead time. And remember - everything, and we mean 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 - needs a label!⁣

☀️Speaking of labels - order them now. We love the extra small pack and the camp pack from - order 2! Labeling items slowly as you get them makes it wayyyyy easier come May.⁣

We’re so excited to introduce you to the newest member of our bunk 🙌🏻🙌🏻 Hayley is joining us in NYC and we can’t wait for you to connect with her!⁣
⁣
🍜 Hayley’s favorite canteen treats include sour candy and twix, but the ultimate currency and food luxury when she was at camp was Cup Noodles (they are still a pretty hot commodity!)!⁣
⁣
🏕️ She is an attorney by trade and has been practicing real estate law in NYC for the last 14 years but her passion has 𝗔𝗟𝗪𝗔𝗬𝗦 been camp and it’s been her dream to get back into this space.⁣
⁣
🌊 It’s impossible to pick just one most fave camp memory! Jumping in the lake during general swim on those super hot days, the crunch of the gravel under your feet as you walk up the path, singing songs at the top of your lungs with your best friends, listening to the rain on the rooftops of the bunks, getting up on slalom for the first time and going around the lake without falling, leading a march down as an upper senior, becoming a counselor and passing all of the amazing traditions on to the next generation of campers, passing the boat test and 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 becoming a ski boat driver! (Just to name a few 😝)⁣
⁣
🚤 Waterskiing was her absolute favorite activity - hands down! She was a die hard waterfront kid as a camper and eventually became part of the ski staff from 2001-2003, and was Head Ski in 2004. She still loves to be on the water! She also loved Swedish Relays, a CNW special!⁣
⁣
⚪️ Hayley’s most treasured camp memento is her Baco/CNW Bazaar shirt from 1996! It’s threadbare and beyond soft. There’s an ongoing debate as to what the original color was - pale grey? off white? Everyone has a different opinion :)⁣

The art of the letter is (hopefully!) perfected at camp and today, on National Handwriting Day, we’re sharing some of our fave stationery and items that can maybeeeee encourage those happy campers to use their penmanship skills to write home.⁣
⁣
While nowadays most find it easier to pick up the phone, text or send an email - it’s clear that technology has definitely impacted how and when we write. Even for us as parents - it’s safe to say the most letters we write is during the summer to our kids at camp - the summer actually does become a time for our kids to brush up on these important skills and send letters to friends and family.⁣ ✉️ 📬 ✍🏼
