We recently had a wonderful group from on board the Fiordland Jewel, and it was an absolute pleasure to show them around the Southern Fiords.
Here’s a review from Russell about their trip: "I have just completed a 6-night cruise of the Southern Fiords on the Fiordland Jewel with 10 residents of Olive Estate from Nelson. The vessel can only be described as luxury at its best. The cruise took us to parts of Southern NZ that few get to see. The crew was incredibly professional and knowledgeable about the history of these areas. The food throughout the voyage was world-class, using mostly locally sourced ingredients. My group wholeheartedly gives Fiordland Discovery their vote. Thank you, Fiordland Discovery, for an unforgettable experience."

On a recent trip to Milford Sound, we were lucky to encounter a very special moment with a pair of Fiordland Crested Penguins, one of the rarest of New Zealand’s mainland penguins.
This week is Conversation Week, and here are some tips from DOC on how to keep our penguins safe in Aotearoa.
You can help keep our penguins safe by leaving them alone, especially if they look scruffy, as they may be moulting. Always keep dogs on a leash around penguin areas and away from nests, and consider donating to groups like the Yellow-eyed Penguin Trust or Forest & Bird. If you find a dead penguin, leave it for community groups to manage. For sick or injured penguins, move them to a safe spot away from people or predators, but don’t feed them—rehabilitation requires expert care. In cases of injury or immediate danger, contact the emergency hotline at 0800 DOC HOT (0800 362 468) and provide the location and photos.
