Day 13 - Queenstown
We had a free day today and some of us went for a cruise out to Glenorchy for lunch, it’s one of the most scenic drives in the country and we made a few stops along the way to check out the view. Some of the crew took a scenic helicopter flight over Queenstown and landed on top of a snow capped mountain, then we all made sure we were back at the hotel bar for the Bledisloe Cup Rugby game

Day 10 - Te Anau to Gore via Milford Sound ...and what a stunning day it was!
We set off to Milford Sound around 8am and had a spectacular drive beside lakes and rivers, through alpine forests, and the Homer Tunnel carved through a huge mountain. We then took a 2 hour boat cruise on the Milford Mariner on Milford Sound, on a picture postcard day before heading off to Lumsden and Mandeville, where we visited the Croyden Aviation Museum. 7 of us took turns for a flight in a vintage Tiger Moth. We then headed to our hotel for the night where we met with some of our previous Routers, Garry & Leonie and Brett & Lisa

Day 7 - Invercargill to Stewart Island
We started the day with a fairly calm ferry ride across to Stewart Island. After checking in to our hotel and having a bite to eat we took a bus tour around the Island and learnt about the history of the place with our very entertaining tour guide Grace. After the tour we took another ferry ride across to Ulva Island to check out the wild life for a few hours. We had a fantastic dinner at our hotel then off to the bar for a night cap and a sing along with Friday the bartender ...what a wonderful experience and a Bucket List tick for many people.

Day 2 - Mount Cook Village to Oamaru
Today started looking a little bleak however we still decided to hike to the Tasman Glacier, and we are glad we did as no matter what the weather, it is breath taking. We then made our way through Twizel to the High Country Salmon Farm and feed the fish then have a bite to eat. On the way to Omarama we passed by Lake Ohau, where the tragic wild fires happened earlier this week. After an hour long soak in the Omarama Hot Tubs we travelled down the Waitangi Valley crossing over the Benmore and Aviemore Hydro Dams.
A quick visit to the Riverstone Castle then onto Steam Punk HQ in Oamaru. After dinner we visited the Blue Penguin Colony where we watched the penguins return to their nests just metres in front of us in our premium seating.
