We bust the myths and show you some simple ways you can travel greener. We may be in Phnom Penh, but these tips apply to every country, not just Cambodia. And don't worry - this is just a short intro, there's more to come next week with our tips for sustainable travel in Siem Reap. So check it out and don't forget to hit subscribe while you are there. 2 months in Vietnam, what was the highlight? The people we met, & their beautiful smiles.
Being constant travellers we are painfully aware of the environmental impact we make, so we are mindful to try to reduce our footprint whenever we can. Sometimes we get it right, sometimes things don't quite go our way.... In this video we share with you want we learned from our failures and our successes. We hope it helps you make choices you feel good about. #ecofriendly #sustainability #CarbonFootprint #responsibletourism #responsibletravel
Exploring the South Vietnam has not only been a lot of fun - it has also taught us so much about this fascinating country. See the full video (link in comments) to see the contrasts of fun-filled sand dunes, small town street markets and a record breaking temple.
Creating this video made me really thoughtful about tourism and it's double-edged sword. Would love to hear your thoughts too.

Thank you! You've helped us pass our first milestone - we've passed 100 subscribers and 1000 watch hours. This still makes us a very small channel, but we are proud of our efforts, our determination and our learning.
In the past six months we've been busy! We have created 20 videos - from Italy, New Zealand, England and Spain. We've looked at the history and culture of the places we have visited and we've created our BB S.T.A.R.S system - reviewing tourism sites, activities and providers in terms of Social Good, Trea$ury (economic benefit to the local community), Accessibility, Relationships and Sustainability. We've had some highs, with some providers showing exemplary practices in one or more of these areas - and we've had some lows, with a few disappointments and providers that have shown "room for improvement". But every single place we have visited has taught us more about human life on this planet, and this is learning that we value greatly.
We've also been learning new skills - we are both completely new to the YouTube game, and have had to learn, from scratch, how to film, edit, write scripts, present ourselves on camera and interview others. Our investment in a new camera has been well worth it, and we feel our overall quality has improved - we'd love to know your thoughts on this.
To help us learn and keep growing, please keep giving us feedback and suggestions. We really appreciate your input. Also, remember to tell us what you want to hear (and what you need less of). This will help us create content that works best for you. And if you haven't subscribed yet - join us here: https://www.youtube.com/@BreakawayBravehearts
The next six months will see even more growth and activity. We have more to come from Spain, and soon we are headed off to Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. We cant' wait to see what we learn there! We are going to be trying our first experience with WorkAway - an organisation that links travellers interested in volunteering with local ho
Got my DJI in action at Lorca Castle, Spain.
Opening a can of worms...
Our video on Bristol's connection to the Transatlantic Slave Trade is gaining a lot of attention! You should read through the comments section - Rob did warn us there are a few Bristolians with aggressive opinions. 😜. They are going to "love" Part 2, when we go through the modern response to the history...hope you all join the conversation too. Link in comments below 👇
Invisible Cities Manchester Walking Tour
We were privileged to have Andy take us on a tour of Manchester as he sees it through a unique perspective. Having experienced homelessness, he has now retrained as a tour guide with Invisible Cities. His raw, gritty perspective matched the soul of the city perfectly. We loved our day with Andy, and we know you'll enjoy it too!
