Climbing has always been restorative for me, even the falling and failing, but this year I just don't have the mental capacity to project anything. And that's ok. Projecting requires all the feels, but there are so many things that have reserved my emotions right now. I'm reminded of how climbing brings me joy, and a few self-care practices to reduce the stress and enjoy a day at the crag:

•Top roping instantly takes the pressure off, and puts me in a better head space.

•Climbing what inspires me. Not relying on stars or grade to decide.

•Only trying a route once. More climbing, less projecting!

•Taking off my harness to appreciate a leftover burrito instead of nibbling on granola bars between climbs.

•Forget about flashing. Even if I'm feeling good, I'll get to halfway up a route and "take" just to ease the pressure.

I’m sure these vary from person to person and day by day, but they help me.

وادي الثعابين في وادي بني ( Snake Canyon ) يقع وادي ال الثعابين عوف بولاية الرستاق ، ويمتد من قرية بلد سيت إلى قرية الزامة ، وسمي بوادي الثعابين لكثرة انحناءاته .الداخلية التي تشبه انحناءات الثعبان يمكن الدخول لمسار الوادي من مدخلين ، الأول يبدأ من قرية بلد سيت وهو الأطول ويحتاج إلى معدات تسلق ونزول بالحبال ، والمدخل الثاني يبدأ من وادي بيمه ويعرف ب الممر الثعباني القصير لانه اقصر وأسهل من الممر الكبير يمتاز وادي الثعابين بوجود الممرات الضيقة التي تغمرها المياه في أغلب أوقات السنة ، وكذلك تكويناته الصخرية والجبلية التي تشدك للتأمل فيها ، ورؤية بديع صنع الله تعالى . صادفتنافي عمق الوادي بحيرات كثيرة مختلفة الأحجام والطول وفي منتصف المسار واجهناممر ضيق جدا يكفي لمرور شخص واحد فقط يأتي بعدہ کھف عجيب يمر الماء بداخله في مشهد يخطف العقول ، النكمل المسار مشيا وسباحة وصولا إلى نهاية الوادي في قرية الزامة .

SNAKE CANYON

Snake Canyon is located in in Wilayat , extending from the village of Sayt to Zama village. The name comes from the snake shaped path of the Gorge. The canyon has two entrances, the first one we call the long trail, which starts from village and requires climbing gears and an expert guide. The second one starts from Bima village and you can go without climbing gears and there is no need for abseiling. The Snake Valley is characterized by the presence of narrow waterways that are flooded most of the year, as well as its rocky and rock formations that makes you feel the Holy creation of almighty Allah. In the depth of the valley, we encountered many pools of different sized and length. In the middle of the route,we found a very narrow passage that will only allow one person to pass through at a time. Further dówn the route there is a strange cave with water passing through it, in a strange scene that captures our mind. We continue the path in the wadi to the end until we reach Zama village.
