It has come to our attention that scammers targeting travel groups on Facebbok, in Czech and English have been impersenating our company and attempting to extort money from travelers to Panama, to a Costa Rican bank account. They have even gone as far as creating a stamp with our name (but not our logo).

We are in the process of notifing all pertinant athorities and these scammers will be under investigation. Please, do not send money to anyone claiming to be New Leaf Panama contacting you through alternate official email/social media.

Please be careful when joining travel Facebook groups and verify the company before sending money. New Leaf is certified with the Panama Tourism Authority (ATP) and adhere to all local laws. We work really hard to provide an ethical experience in Panama with partners and clients and are appalled and frankly hurt these scammers are using our name and may hurt our stellar reputation.

Its official! .panamatours has aquired a brand new, spacious van! We are excited to be able to accommodate travelers with extra comfort and extra safety features! We worked really hard to purchase this top of the line van and are looking forward to taking our guests on all our adventures throughout Panama in style!

As many of you know, New Leaf Panama works almost everyday with the Wounaan indigenous community located in Gamboa, the community has become family. 2 days ago one of the houses caught on fire, and as the houses are made with dried palm it spread rapidly and completely destroyed the home. 3 children were inside but fortunately community members were able to get them out and nobody got hurt.

They lost everything. New Leaf is collecting donations so the community can rebuild the structure and slowly replace everything lost. The children do not even have shoes and uniforms to go to school.

Our secret is out: We LOVE Ants. Especially leafcutters. Did you know the original logo for New Leaf Panama was a leafcutter ant? Some commented it may turn tourists off since it is an insect, so we developed our parrot with a leaf wing.

We still love them though.

Leafcutters can carry 10-50 times their weight!

They are farmers who grow a unique fungus on leaves they carry to their huge nest.

They travel great distances, around 30 meters to find the best ingredients for the fungus.

We have been spotting so many lately on our Monkey Island tour. If you have ever wanted to see these creatures up close, it is likely we will see one in nature. We can also organize tours to a Sloth Sanctuary were you can observe sloths up close. Learn about these fascinating creatures, and how rehabilitation programs work for baby sloths that have lost their mother to a car or a dog.
