Our team is made up of the most knowledgeable, passionate, and experienced resident guides and staff, all of whom have degrees in guiding, average 12+ years of guiding experience each, and receive specialized yearly training. Our guides in Peru are hand selected by the owners of New Adventures Peru. All guides for our Peru treks and tours are native to Peru and speak fluent English (some staff speak other languages, contact us to enquire) to ensure excellent communication and a positive experience overall. We offer guided, multi-day combination trips, trekking, cultural tours, and customized travel in the majestic mountains and river valleys of the Cusco area and beyond. New Adventures Peru specializes in creating itineraries for those wanting to take the less-traveled route. and offers trips that cater to a wide variety of travel styles and fitness levels. The Q'eros belong to the largest Quechua population group, named for their shared language. The community we visited lives in and around Qochamoqo, at almost 4,400 meters above sea level in eastern Peru, and is said to be the last Inca ayllu, the last Inca community in the country.

A legacy of the country's long and rich history are communities like the Q'eros, who are believed to be descendants of the ancient Inca civilization. Located on the central west coast of South America, this large country encompasses a wide variety of biotopes and climates, in mountainous, desert and coastal regions.

The Q'eros are known as the guardians of the wisdom of the Andes. They are organic potato farmers, alpaca herders, musicians, and weavers who live in remote villages at 14,500 feet. Considered the last Incas of Peru, they strive to preserve their indigenous ethnic identity. They are one of the most isolated Andean communities, moving with the seasons to live and work at various altitudes. The Q'eros are known for the beauty of their traditional weavings that are encoded with ancestral symbols and cultural knowledge centered on the land. The Q'eros people live a working life on par with nature. They make offerings to Pacha Mama, Mother Earth, and the Apus, mountain spirits, in exchange for their well-being and that of their animals and crops. The worldview concepts of ayni, the importance of reciprocal sharing, and animu, the awareness of an animate essence in all things, shape their interactions with each other and their environment.
