En esta emocionante jornada, pudimos compartir experiencias con unos 20 niños, quienes no solo tuvieron la oportunidad de avistar diversas aves, sino también de conocer los anfibios que habitan en su comunidad. Nuestro objetivo es generar conciencia sobre la importancia de cuidar y preservar nuestro entorno natural.

Seguiremos llevando a cabo este tipo de actividades en el futuro, siempre comprometidos con el desarrollo sostenible y la protección del medio ambiente. Discover the charm of nature with Tarapoto Explorations! We are a company committed to preserving the environment through our Nature Tourism activities. Recently, as part of our social commitment, we had the privilege of giving a lecture and practical session on bird watching to children from the Natiba Community of the Kukama Kukamiria People - Emanuel Varadero de Tibilo, Loreto, Peru. This place is the gateway to the PACAYA SAMIRIA NATIONAL RESERVE.

During this exciting day, we were able to share experiences with around twenty children, who not only had the opportunity to observe different bird species, but also to discover the amphibians that inhabit their community. Our goal is to raise awareness of the importance of caring for and preserving our natural environment.

We will continue to organize this type of activities in the future, always committed to sustainable development and environmental protection. We would like to thank our valuable allies, colleagues from Wonder Amazon, as well as the park rangers of SERNANP PV12, for their support and collaboration in this initiative.

Ameerega bassleri (Chrome morph)
Ameerega bassleri are native to the Peru lowlands and montane forests. These frogs can be found living near streams in the jungle they live in. Ameerega is considered by the IUCN Red List as “Vulnerable” as of 2018, and are under constant threat of deadly virus, agriculture, human collection, and logging.
This A. bassleri chrome morph is restricted to a specific spot of El Dorado Province in San Martín Region, Perú.

Picture was taken at it's natural habitat with a Nikon camara and a regular lenss Nikkor 18 - 55.

Scientific Name: Loddigesia mirabilis IUCN Status: Endangered Trend: Decreasing Habitat: Forest borders, second growth, montane scrub. The Marvelous Spatuletail, like many hummingbird species including the Black-eared Fairy and Rainbow-bearded Thornbill, has a name that is both charming and descriptive. This beautiful little hummingbird shines in shades of white, green, and bronze; the male also sports vivid blue crest feathers, a brilliant turquoise gorget, and a black line on its white underparts. The only member of the genus Loddigesia, the species was first described in 1835. It's only found in the Rio Utcubamba Valley in northern Peru. The main threat to this hummingbird is habitat destruction, caused by burning for agriculture and illegal wood-cutting. Another danger is illegal hunting: Male spatuletails may be targeted by hunters using slingshots, as some believe that this hummingbird's heart is an aphrodisiac.
