During the winter months in the southern hemisphere (June to August), the mountain may be partially covered in snow due to low temperatures and cold weather conditions. However, the amount of snow can vary each year and is not guaranteed. If you wish to see the mountain covered in snow, it's advisable to check the weather conditions and consult with local guides before planning your visit.

It's believed that the Incas found these ancient constructions and, with the knowledge passed down by earlier civilizations—about whom we have only minimal evidence—ensured their preservation.

Some researchers even suggest possible connections to ancient civilizations like the Sumerians, adding a layer of mystery and wonder to these already awe-inspiring sites. The intricate stonework and precise engineering hint at a lost wisdom that predates the Incas, making Sacsayhuamán not just a testament to Incan ingenuity but also a bridge to the distant past.

Micaela Bastidas, una mujer de extraordinaria belleza, emergió en la pubertad con una mezcla única de rasgos andinos, afrodescendientes y españoles. Su presencia era imponente y su caminar, sinuoso y grácil, evocaba las ondulaciones de las acacias en las sabanas africanas. En su pueblo natal, Tamburco, la describían con admiración: sus ojos reflejaban la profundidad de los cerros, su rostro brillaba como la luna, y sus cabellos se comparaban con las tupidas madreselvas.

De carácter decidido y energía inusual, Micaela destacaba por su figura esbelta, labios de moras maduras y una sonrisa adornada por dientes blanquísimos. Su magnetismo no pasó desapercibido cuando, en una calle bulliciosa de Abancay, un joven arriero de 17 años, José Gabriel Condorcanqui, la vio por primera vez. Fascinado por su andar y su vibrante presencia, cayó rendido ante ella.

Era el año 1760, y José Gabriel, un joven bien educado, quedó tan impactado que describió su encuentro en una carta: "Te encontré como saliendo del paraíso, entre los frondosos patis y el canto de las tuyas, bajo los rayos de un sol que se desvanecía en arreboles. Under the golden glow of the rising sun, Sarah stood at the start of the legendary Inca Trail. With her backpack snug and her heart full of anticipation, she ventured onto the ancient pathway, ready to uncover the mysteries hidden within its weathered stones.

Every step she took resonated with the history of the Incas, their achievements, and their tragedies. She marveled at the crumbling ruins, wondering how these structures had stood the test of time for centuries. The landscape shifted constantly, from dense forests to towering mountain peaks, as if nature itself were telling a story with every twist and turn.

During the day, she shared laughter and tales with her fellow travelers, all connected by the challenge and beauty of the trek. At night, beneath a starry sky, they gathered around the fire to swap stories about the ancient inhabitants of these lands and the legends that still lingered in the shadows of the jungle.

But it wasn't all easy. There were moments when fatigue threatened to overcome her and the challenge seemed insurmountable. Yet, every time she looked ahead and saw the winding path stretching out before her, she found the strength to press on, inspired by the greatness of those who had walked before her.

Finally, after days of hiking, came the culmination: the view of Machu Picchu from Inti Punku, the Sun Gate. Tears filled her eyes as she beheld the majesty of the lost city of the Incas, a reward for her perseverance and adventurous spirit.

And so, with her heart full of unforgettable memories and her soul enriched by the experience, Sarah returned home, knowing that the Inca Trail had left an indelible mark on her life forever.

With backpacks on their shoulders and cameras in hand, Maria and Carlos embarked on their first trip together to the Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia.
