Visiting the native communities in Peru and staying with a local family is the best way to truly immerse yourself in the culture, and to know the real Peru. Last weekend we went to visit the sweetest family in Amaru, a native Quechua community in the Peruvian Andes. Going on a hike to the nearby lakes, seeing the different crops they cultivate, having the most delicious meals made with the food they grow, and trying on the traditional outfit all make for an unforgettable and unique experience!
