Mt Sugarloaf is an ideal tourist destination. It is part of the Kubor Range located to the west of Tambul Station in the Western Highlands Province sharing borders to the north to Tsak Valley, Lagaip Head Waters and Kandep in Enga Province and to the south to Upper Mendi in Southern Highlands Province. It can offer tourists bush tracking, skydiving, mountain climbing, sight seeing, camp outing, bird watching, game fishing etc. The topography is mainly hills and valleys covered with savannah grassland and palm trees. In between the hills and valleys are crystal clear flowing rivers filled with rainbow trout. Pots of lakes and prestine water falls makes it a magnificent natural environment. The island of forests become the home of different species of birds and possums, tree kangeroos, wallabies, cassowaries. The climate is very cold with temperatures ranging from 16-18°© and experience rainfall whole year around. There are bush tracks used by local people for hunting are still in use today especially the people who live encircling Mt Sugarloaf.
