The Sepik Plain Saksak Festival (SPSF) organizing committee is preparing for another festival this year. This annual event aims to promote the cultures and traditions of the people from the river and the Sepik plain, exposing them nationally and internationally to increase competitiveness and attract visitors to Papua New Guinea. Despite past disasters, the committee is determined to host this significant cultural festival. In addition to culture and traditions, the SPSF advocates for agriculture and tourism to foster development opportunities for local people.

Saksak Events And Tour (SEAT) is pleased to support the third annual Sepik Plain Saksak Festival in East Sepik Province. One of PNG's event and tour organizer, Saksak Events And Tour (SEAT) has come on board once again as a main organizer of the event and gave support to the Sepik Plain Saksak Festival Committee and are now in the preparation leading up to December 6th-7th Festival.

The 2024 Sepik Plain Saksak Festival will be held from the 6th-7th December in Yangit Village, Burui Kunai LLG in Wosera Gawi District, East Sepik Province. With the theme “PROMOTING SUSTAINABLE TOURISIM AND RURAL ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT”. The event is more than just a cultural show but rather the development of concept of harnessing the potential of the amazing culture, and to provide a platform for rural development and economic growth through tourism and local arts and crafts.

The remote area is unique for its ‘Bandi Kraku’ initiation ceremony for women by full body scarification, which will be featured during the show, including over 20 other cultural groups from throughout the district. We are happy to welcome all participants to attend and be part of this cultural events.
