seems to be such a heavy word!

Let me take you down our path two years ago.
We came into business with nothing but a game plan, to change, impact lives in communities, promote and provide service in this much needed area, tourism in beautiful New Ireland Province 💯

I was just returning from America 🇺🇸 in 2022 after undergoing a scholarship “Tourism Professional Program” fully funded by the US Department of States. With so much enthusiasm, knowledge, limited experience, charisma and character with the right personality/mindset to navigate my ideas 💡 in the real world, I started off using my existing connections with inbound tour operators and social media platforms for marketing. That with guidance of few angels such as my own parents, my partner, close family & friends ,few stakeholders and not forgetting my mentors in-country and abroad. THANKYOU😊

First of all, I acknowledge God who is the source of all our strengths and knowledge-blessings. 🙏

I am personally thankful to my very hardworking and supportive parents (whom most times we don’t agree on alot of things! 😂but I clean my tears and stand to be corrected at all times before them 🥹)They’ve been my number 1 support system, believers of my dreams and aspirations as a young female who stepped into business some 8years ago.

Rest is history we are now happy to announce our Homestay unit 01 is up for use. This is a fully serviced air conditioned unit which is 6m x 6m in dimension, very spacious and can cater up to 6-8 pax maximum. We are currently working on 8more units which should be completed by end of this year. Oh yes! We have hosted two of our guests in here who took 3 to 4 days tours in Kavieng, NIP 🇵🇬 🏝️

We continue to thank other stake holders who came onboard to be part of us, our accommodation service providers namely Kalaro Guest House KVG, Kavieng Homestay and Tapakesi Guest House and few others to name a few who continue to provide budget accommodation for our clients & guests 🙏Thankyou tru !

Attached to this post are few pictures taken in our guest Homestay unit located along the Wharf road, Kavieng town.

Ended this journey yesterday! Thankyou Tim & Becky Shaw for the 3long days tours 🙏

Tim reached out to us last month to customize a tour for them along the Boluminsky highway,East coast of NIP where they get to stay at local guest houses and experience more of NIP’s culture and adventure through tourism. Below was their customized itinerary for the 3 days;

Day 1: We picked them up in Kavieng town and went to the Kavieng main market where they bought few artifacts from local mothers. After that we left Kavieng town, and drove down the highway made a short stop at Nonopai village (50km from Kvg) where Becky visited her old family friends. From there we drove another 20km down where we visited Laraibina EELS New Ireland and spent few mins there feeding eels. After that we continued down the highway, another 70km where we arrived at Konos, Sentral New Ireland. Made a quick stop at the market and got some fresh veggies for dinner😊 We carried on another 20 km down (totaling 160km traveled in day 1) where we arrived at Laxasilang Guest House and did a 10 minutes tour, continued down we arrived at Pam waterfall and had some photoshoot here then we drove back a kilometer where we spend the whole afternoon there swimming and enjoying the piece of paradise at Dalom Tropical Homestay @ Dalom village🏡 Had local “kaikai” fresh watercress from Pam falls and overnighted. FYI there is no electricity out here so we used solar and battery lamps for lighting and charged our phones using car power.

Day2: Woke up in morning to an amazing view affront, Dalom is truly paradise 🥹although there is no phone reception here, the best place to disconnect from the whole world and connect with nature, relax and unwind 🌬️ They had bath in the river just 50meters from the guest house. Had a good swim, relaxed a little , then set off down the highway, another photoshoot with the perfect lighting now against Pam waterfalls. Tim flew his drone and took some amazing footage of the beach front and waterfalls at Pam (which he is yet to share with us so we can share with you all as promised by him😁) We headed another 50km down the highway to Rubio Plantation from Dalom (now covering almost 210km of the total 257km Boluminsky Highway Kavieng-Namatanai which means we were almost in Namatanai town😊). We met Shane who is the owner of Rubio Plantation Resort lovely host who gave us a 30mins tour around his cocoa plantation and chocolate processing unit. It was eye opening for the guests to actually see the whole process of how chocolate is made, from harvesting raw cocoa from trees to drying, fermenting then to the actual chocolate making! 🤩The tour ended with us all tasting the amazing Rubio chocolate 🍫 which made guests asking to buy !! 👍They bought locally made Rubio chocolates here as well as locally made coconut oil and bathing soap.
From here we made a U-turn and drove back which is approximately 115km. Along the way we had Malagan “singsing” group awaiting us at Langenia village for the “Tatanua” mask dance which they sang, danced and delivered nicely entertaining our guests. They took lots of photos with the dancers and the “band” singing group 😊 We set off from there to the next nearby village called Libba where we met an amazing carver Ben who show-cased his carvings, totems and artwork explaining the details which was fascinating. Moving on the the journey back up towards Kavieng we arrived at a local guest house in Fissoa village. We settled into our rooms at their Homestay and went for swims at their in-house waterhole well maintained with decking and steps into the river. Such a gem! Friendly staffs prepared our dinner and 6:30pm we had a lovely welcoming seafood dinner then called it a night.

Day3: Our day started at 8am with delicious breakfast, scrambled eggs, buttered short bread and fruits with hot cuppa. We showered in their in-house river and went for a 20mins walk to a new spot called Furial look out, spent a good one and half hours there indulging with the amazing spectacular view and sounds of nature! 😊 It was almost 11am when we left the look out for the next spot which was Nari beach, just 10mins walk from the look out. Locals met us along the way with “kulau” coconut water which quenched our thirst under the scorching sun that day 🤦‍♀️. We trekked down the beach and found natural caves, turtle laying area and then guests did a beach walk and collected few corals and shells for souvenirs. The walk back to the guest house seemed shorter from there. 😊we went straight and jumped in the river at the guest house to cool off and it was the best feeling. After that we checked out and took our stuff out and loaded the vehicle as well had some fruits prepared for us by lovely hosts “doxo maze” (thankyou!). We said goodbyes and thanked them for their hospitality, took some group photos and continued our journey back to Kavieng town at about 1pm’ish. On our way back into town, Becky requested to stop over again at Nonopai village where we first made stop over and gave her family friends some chocolates and items she brought as gifts, they chatted for a while then we left arriving in Kavieng town at about 3pm.

This trip went smoothly without any hiccups and KCT would like to that Tim and Becky for coming up with an amazing itinerary that even helped us identify few new amazing spots as well was a fulfilling New Ireland experience for the hosts as well as themselves.

New Ireland surely is a piece of paradise that awaits your interests and visit. 🥳🥳
