CROSSING THE LAND BORDER OF PAPUA NEW GUINEA AND INDONESIA

After the signing of the MOU between the former President of Indonesia His Excellency Jokko Widodo and the Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea Honourable James Marape last month in Port Moresby, the land border crossing can now experience good number of travellers using the Land Border crossing.

Since domestic flights out of Jackson's Airport is expensive for those travellers who wish to tour Momase and Highlands region, using land transfers from Sentani Airport in Jayapura to Vanimo is now making travel to the two regions affordable. VANIMO GATEWAY TO INDONESIA & ASIA REGION

Vanimo is at the Northwestern end of Papua New Guinea. Vanimo town gets it's direct flights from PNG Capital City Port Moresby. The flight takes 110 minutes from Jackson's International Airport in a Forker 100 PX flight. Currently, Forker 100 departs Port Moresby at 4:00pm and arrives in Wewak Boram Airport before traveling to Vanimo. Meaning, you arrive in Vanimo at around 6:00pm.

The airfares can cost you K1,330 for normal airfares but for online and specials can cost you as low as K330 to K440 for one way. A lot of travel agents are now selling online tickets at special rates you can buy through Facebook and other social medias.

ACCOMMODATION
There are three hotels available in Vanimo with their rooms ranging from K220 to K880. There are also available in Vanimo Guest Houses and Bangalows who offer room rates from K165 to K220.
