BAGGAO MASTER CHEF

It's open to the first 23 restaurant/panciteria owners/cook/staff in Baggao to register, first come first serve basis.

πŒπ„π‚π‡π€ππˆπ‚π’ 𝐀𝐍𝐃 π†π”πˆπƒπ„π‹πˆππ„π’

β€’ Each participating team should be composed of two (2) members only.

β€’ The challenge is to prepare a Main Course dish which will highlight the use of bamboo shoot (Rabung) as the main ingredient.

β€’ Participants will provide their own ingredients, cooking materials and equipment.

β€’ The participants must provide a Title Card which contains the Recipe Name and the brief description of each of the dishes on display.

β€’ The title cards must be placed on the display area of the participant’s dishes prior to judging.

β€’ All competitors are requested to wear proper cooking attire to include apron and hairnet.

β€’ Each team must bring at least three (3) plain white kitchen towels.

β€’ All preparation and cooking of dishes, including garnishes, must be entirely made and crafted on the spot. A team who brings in any cooked item will be disqualified. Before the competition starts, each working area will be checked by the committee to ensure that no item (e.g., food and beverage) has been brought in.

β€’ Every team should prepare a recipe good for 5 servings and served separately for the judges for tasting. It should pair well with white rice.

β€’ The participants will be given a total of two (2) hours to cook including the mis-en-place.

β€’ One team will be declared as Grand Winner.

β€’ They are required to be at the venue one (1) hour before the contest proper. Five (5) points will be deducted from the total score of the groups who will arrive late.

β€’ The contest will be on November 23, 2024, 1:00 PM at San Jose Gymnasium.

β€’ The adjudicators’ decision is final and non-appealable; and

β€’ Failure to follow the Guidelines means disqualification

DANCESPORT COMPETITION

It is open to all elementary and secondary schools in the Municipality of Baggao, be it a private or a government school.

β€’ The Dancesport Competition is open to all the elementary and secondary schools in the Municipality of Baggao, be it a private or a government school.

β€’ There shall be two (2) categories:
2.1. Elementary Level
2.1.1. Latin-American (Cha-cha, Samba, Jive)- 2 entry per district
2.1.2. American Standard (Tango, Waltz, and Quick Step) - 2 entry per district
2.2. High School Level
2.2.1. Latin-American (Cha-cha, Rumba, Jive)- 1-2 pair per school
2.2.2. American Standard (Tango, Waltz, and Quick Step)- 1-2 pair per school
β€’ Each entry shall only be participated by bona fide students of the school they represent.

β€’ Pre-registration is REQUIRED. Duly accomplish the Registration Forms sent through google drive by the organizers and must be submitted to [email protected] on or before November 11, 2024. Hence, Incomplete, late or no pre-registration are grounds for disqualification.

β€’ A representative shall attend the orientation. (Date, time and venue will be announced on a later date) .

β€’ The maximum routine limit is one minute up to 1 minute and thirty seconds (1:00-1:30).

β€’ Lifts and props are not allowed.

β€’ Costume and dress regulations for all competitors will be STRICTLY ENFORCED and shall be the responsibility of the competitors and must be in accordance with the WDSF Juvenile Dress Regulation. Copies of WDSF Costume regulations and design suggestions, may be downloaded from www.worlddancesport.org

β€’ Routine must be in accordance with the WDSF Close Syllabus for elementary and Competitive Syllabus for high school. Bronze Syllabus is applicable for both categories.

β€’ Failure to follow any of the guidelines is subject to a 2-point deduction on the final score.

β€’ Point deduction will be done by the organizers.

β€’ Three judges will score the whole performance.

β€’ Each judge is responsible for all the category of the routine.

β€’ The decision of the judges is final and irrevocable.

β€’ In all dances, timing, basic rhythm and movement will take precedence over the other fields of adjudications so that if the couple repeatedly makes mistakes in the category, they must be placed last in the dance.

β€’ Only one (1) foot is allowed off the floor.

β€’ All competitors must attend rehearsals as requested by the organizers.

β€’ Competing couples must be at the playing venue one (1) hour before the competition.

β€’ No competing couple or representative shall contact in any way or manner to any of the adjudicators in connection with critiques or ratings.

β€’ The components in adjudicating are: Technical Quality, Movement to Music, Partnering Skills, Choreography and Presentations.

β€’ The heat will depend on the number of participating couples. During the elimination round, check mark system will be used to select the number of couples requested by the organizers.

β€’ In the final round, each judge shall place all the competing couples in order of merit in each of the dances. The judge shall mark his first couple, second couple, third couple, and so on in each of the dances.

β€’ A judge must not tie couples for any place in the final of any dance.

β€’ The winner of a particular dance is the couple who is placed first by an absolute majority of the judges; second, the couple who is placed second or higher by an absolute majority.

β€’ The remaining positions are allocated in a similar way.

β€’ The couple with the largest majority shall be allocated the position under review and the couple with the next largest majority, the following position.

β€’ The adjudicators’ decision is final and non-appealable.

β€’ The competition will be on November 24, 2024, Sunday, at the VGH Gymnasium. The competition will start at 5 in the afternoon. Therefore, contestants must be at the venue before the start of the competition.

HATAW BAGGAO HIP HOP DANCE COMPETITION

It is open to all Katipunan ng Kabataan of Baggao aged 15-30 years old.

πŒπ„π‚π‡π€ππˆπ‚π’ 𝐀𝐍𝐃 π†π”πˆπƒπ„π‹πˆππ„π’
β€’All teams should have a minimum of 10 members and a maximum of 15 members.

β€’All member of the team are members of the Katipunan ng Kabataan (15-30 years old).

β€’8 slots are only available. First come first served basis.

β€’Each team should submit their entry (including the name of dancers) on or before November 11, 2024.

β€’The duration of the performance should be within 4-5 minutes.

β€’Any kind of Hip-hop dance is allowed. Tumbling, ex*****on of acrobatic movements such as rolls, twists, handsprings, or somersaults on floor or on the ground are acceptable for those who are experts.

β€’Costumes should not be very skin-showing. Before the competition, the organizing team will check and assess if the costume of the performers is appropriate and safe to be used.

β€’Their time will start at the first beat of their music.

β€’Protests are prohibited and will not be accepted regarding any score or result of a decision.

β€’The competition will be on November 23, 2024, Saturday, at the VGH Gymnasium. The competition will start at 5 in the afternoon. Therefore, contestants must be at the venue before the start of the competition.

βœ”οΈ The entry must be a Philippine Folk Dance, e.g. Tinikling, Pandango sa Ilaw, Maglalatik, Sayaw sa Bangko, etc;
βœ”οΈEach team will take charge of their own costume and props;
βœ”οΈTime limit is 4 to 5 minutes only;
βœ”οΈThe adjudicators’ decision is final and non-appealable; and
βœ”οΈThe competition will be on November 26, 2024, Tuesday, at the VGH Gymnasium.

The competition will start at 8 in the morning. Therefore, contestants must be at the venue before the start of the competition.

CHEERDANCE COMPETITION

It is open to all the secondary schools in the Municipality of Baggao, be it a private or a government school.

πŒπ„π‚π‡π€ππˆπ‚π’ 𝐀𝐍𝐃 π†π”πˆπƒπ„π‹πˆππ„π’

β€’Each entry shall only be participated by bona fide students of the school they represent.

β€’The team shall consist of not less than 25 and not more than 30 members who will do the actual cheer dance. Additional (5) spotters shall be provided by each team wearing black shirts.

β€’Pre-registration is REQUIRED. Duly accomplish the Registration Forms sent through google drive by the organizers and must be submitted to [email protected] on or before November 11, 2024. Hence, Incomplete, late or no pre-registration are grounds for disqualification.

β€’Each team is given a minimum of five (5) minutes and a maximum of seven (7) minutes to perform their routine. A one-minute pre-set will be given each team. After such the emcee will signal Go and the Timer starts.

β€’The "Experience Baggao”, which is the official tourism slogan of the Municipality, is required at any time in the performance. Profanity and other inappropriate language are not permitted.

β€’All performers have the freedom to explore the elements of cheerdance and its choreographic devices.

β€’Only portable props and hand-held props are allowed. No usage of pyrotechnics, actual smoke, fire powder, any form of liquid, and any hazardous things that may harm the other participants in the venue, Also, backdrop and risers are not allowed.

β€’The use of live or recorded accompaniment such as snare drums, bass drums, tambourine, xylophone, cymbals, triangle, timpani and maracas are allowed.

β€’Stunts, lifting and pyramids (second level only) are encouraged. Tossing is strictly prohibited. Tumbling is acceptable for those who are experts. Third degree lifting is not allowed (lifting is limited to second level only). No acrobatic movement is allowed.

β€’The organizers have assigned official timer to take note of time consumed by each group, however for equality each team can assign one representative to be with the timer assigned by the committee and eye witness the process of 'time keeping';

β€’In the event the routine is interrupted because of technical reasons caused by the event organizer's equipment and facilities, a repeat performance of the entire routine is needed, however, if the performance is interrupted because of failure of team's own equipment, supplies, tools, props or acts, the team must either continue the routine or withdraw from the competition;

β€’In the event of minor injury (immobility, unconsciousness, excessive bleeding), the organizers reserved the right to stop the performance to provide proper medical attention. The team will be judged according to where the routine is performed;

β€’The committee shall not be responsible for any accident that could happen during the performance;

β€’All participants agree to conduct themselves in a manner displaying good sportsmanship throughout the event.

β€’The team must sure to leave the floor clean immediately after their routine. All hand-held props must also be kept by the team members;

β€’The organizers reserved the right to disqualify any entry that fails to abide by the guidelines herein stipulated;

β€’A representative shall attend the orientation. (Date, time and venue will be announced on a later date)

β€’All competitors must attend rehearsals as requested by the organizers.

β€’Recognition of winner will be done right after the event.

β€’A deficit or excess of one minute on allotted time of performance is subject to a 2-point deduction per minute on the final score.

β€’Failure to follow Guideline no 10 is subject to an 8-point deduction on the final score.

β€’Point deduction will be done by the organizers.

Please be advised that the Blue Water Cave is temporarily closed to visitors due to the requirement for a Conduct Comprehensive Assessment by the Biodiversity Management Bureau. This assessment is necessary before the cave can be used for ecotourism.

In a collaborative effort by the Tourism Section, Traffic Management Group, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Office, and Rescue 116, the proactive and forward-thinking approach to bolster safety and emergency preparedness at Baggao's renowned tourist sites culminated in a comprehensive training program focused on Standard First Aid, Basic Life Support, and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) specifically tailored for tour guides. Held on June 10-11, 2024, at the Barangay Hall in San Jose, Baggao, Cagayan, this training initiative drew participants from three key tourist destinations within the municipality.

Led by LGU trainers such as Vladimir Angelito Laureta, Clifton Dichoso, and Jonathan Lorenzo, with assistance from Denver Domingo and Paul Jyzel Rodriguez, the training curriculum encompassed a diverse array of topics, ranging from the fundamentals of First Aid to intricate procedures like Basic Knot-Tying and Simulation Exercises. Noteworthy is the fact that this training program not only served to equip tour guides with essential life-saving skills but also fulfilled a crucial requirement for their Department of Tourism (DOT) Tour Guide Accreditation.

The Magabbeg Rock Formations lie just downstream of Blue Water Falls & Cave and Lipit Canyon. This site boasts towering cliffs and numerous gigantic rock boulders, adorned with vibrant vegetation that obstructs the flow of the Paranan River. It is an ideal destination for swimming, cliff diving, and bouldering activities. The name "Magabbeg" originates from the Agtao language, specifically "Nagabbegan," meaning "blocked," referring to the obstruction of water flow caused by the numerous gigantic rock boulders.
