BEWARE OF ACCOMMODATION/TRANSIENT SCAMS
The city government reiterates advisories to safeguard people against scams on accommodation establishments that continue to victimize unsuspecting tourists.

The office of Mayor Benjamin B. Magalong noted the increase of reports from victims conned from online accommodation transactions.

The latest report was from actor Derek Ramsay who claimed to have been scammed by the social media page – Camp John Hay Forest Homes Cabin (Lodging Services) with 11,000 followers.

The incident was already reported to the Baguio City Police Office anti-cybercrime unit to investigate including all other online scamming complaints.

The city government reminds the public to be doubly careful in their accommodation transactions in the city as more people report of being scammed by unscrupulous persons posing as owners of accommodation establishments and even plain residential houses.

To verify legitimacy of your transactions, call the Permits and Licensing Division at 619-3184 to confirm the names of registered owner/s and their contact numbers.

List of accredited accommodation establishments in the city may also be verified via the visita.baguio.gov.ph.
