About Bantayan
Bantayan Island is located off the northwest coast of Cebu, 136 kilometres (85 miles) from Cebu City. It has 3 municipalities:
Santa Fe, Bantayan, and Madridejos.
A friendly atmosphere, emerging subcultures, and an easy pace give the island a particularly welcoming vibe. Historically, Bantayan Island has been - and continues to be - as a laid back place, with a relaxed approach to life and business. Although the island is now booming economically and developing apace, it aspires to retain its reverence for personal time so integral to its ethos. Leisure is woven into the fabric of island life; it cuts across socio-economic lines and manifests as a cultural value. That natural expression of relaxation is a tangible thing, an ambience that wraps around you almost as soon as you arrive; what most vacations are valued for.
