Advisory – URGENT Update
21 June 2023

Cotabato flights cancelled due to runway closure

For the safety of our passengers, PAL has cancelled the following domestic flights to and from Cotabato City effective from 22 June 2023, due to the closure of the runway at Cotabato’s Awang Airport for urgent repairs of the asphalt overlay:

Cancelled flights from 22 June 2023 until further notice:

PR 2959/2960 (Daily)
Manila – Cotabato – Manila

PR 2957/2958 (July 11)
Manila – Cotabato – Manila

PR 2223/2234 (Monday & Thursday)
Cebu – Cotabato – Cebu

PR 2487/2488 (Monday & Thursday)
Cotabato – Tawi-Tawi – Cotabato

The closure of the Cotabato runway is in compliance with an official Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) advisory issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).

Replacement flights from 22 to 30 June 2023:

Every day up to 30 June 2023, we will operate the following Manila-Davao-Manila flights in lieu of the cancelled Manila-Cotabato-Manila services:

June 22-23, 2023

PR 4819 Manila to Davao (Daily) – departing Manila at 0820 AM
PR 4820 Davao to Manila (Daily) – departing Davao at 1100 AM

June 24, 2023

PR 4819 Manila to Davao – departing Manila at 0850 AM
PR 4820 Davao to Manila – departing Davao at 1130 AM

June 25-30, 2023

PR 2805 – Manila to Davao (Daily) - departing Manila at 0850 AM
PR 2806 – Davao to Manila (Daily) – departing Davao at 1120 AM

Passengers booked on the cancelled MNLCBO and CBOMNL flights will be automatically rebooked on the replacement MNLDVO and DVOMNL flights.

Passengers boarding the replacement flight from Davao are requested to be at the Davao International Airport at least three (3) hours before the 1120 AM scheduled departure time.

OPTIONS FOR PASSENGERS OF CANCELLED FLIGHTS:

You have the option to:

• Reroute to another flight with available space within 60 days from the original flight in the same booking class or higher within the same cabin class.

• Convert your ticket to Travel Credits equivalent to the unused base fare of your ticket. Voucher validity is one year (1) from the date of issuance.

• Refund ticket without penalties, excluding Ticketing Service Charge. Please contact us at https://www.philippineairlines.com/covi.../mypal-hub-request.

Philippine Airlines will coordinate closely with the authorities to determine when the airport will reopen for commercial flights. As always, your safety is our paramount concern.

FYI

Starting June 16, 2023, all PAL International flights will depart from and arrive at NAIA Terminal 1. All PAL Domestic flights shall remain in NAIA Terminal 2.

Check your flight's assigned terminal before proceeding to the airport. Shuttle buses between Terminal 1 and 2 are available for passengers with connecting flights.

New Cebu-Baguio service to commence on December 16

Good news for our passengers!

Beginning December 16, 2022, PAL will offer direct flights between Cebu and Baguio City.

This new route will allow hassle-free travel to the City of Pines from the Queen City of the South, and vice versa, in just two hours.

From December 16, PAL's Cebu-Baguio-Cebu flights will operate four times weekly with convenient morning departures, as follows:

· PR 2230 Cebu-Baguio - every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday
- departing Mactan Cebu at 08:50 AM, arriving at Baguio Loakan Airport at 10:50 AM
· PR 2231 Baguio-Cebu - every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday
- departing at Baguio at 11:10 AM, arriving in Cebu at 01:00 PM

Known as the 'Summer Capital of the Philippines' for its year-round cool climate and breathtaking location 1,400 meters above sea level, Baguio is your destination for tourist holidays. The City of Pines is also a business hub that hosts the Baguio City Economic Zone.

Baguio is the latest addition to our growing network of domestic flights from Cebu.

Cebu Pacific Air and Cebgo Domestic Flights Return to Terminal 1

Cebu, Philippines – Domestic flights of Cebu Pacific Air and Cebgo will transfer back to Terminal 1 (T1) effective 16 June 2022, 00:01 PST, as Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) experiences a significant traffic growth, with Domestic demand now at 52% of pre-pandemic levels. In 2019, at its peak, MCIA saw a daily average of 25,743 domestic passengers.

Cebu Pacific Air and Cebgo flights departing before 23:59 of June 15, 2022, will still depart from Terminal 2 (T2).

All other domestic departures, such as Philippine Airlines/PAL Express, AirAsia, and AirSwift, will continue in T2 until further notice. These airlines will be transferred together to T1 at a confirmed date at least one (1) month before the transfer takes effect.

All International Arrivals and Departures will continue to operate in T2, while all Domestic Arrivals will continue to operate in T1.

Domestic departing flights were transferred to T2 on January 16, 2022, after T1 needed to be closed for repair due to Typhoon Odette last December 2021. The consolidation of operations turned into an opportunity for domestic passengers to experience travelling through the iconic Terminal 2, which operated before as an international terminal only.
