🎉 Last October 31, 2024, we submitted our project proposal and signed the Memorandum of Agreement for our Second Place Best Tourism Village Prize! This milestone was made possible with the support of DOT-CAR Regional Director Jovita Ganongan, Mayor Romeo Salda, Supervising Tourism Operations, DOT-CAR Bayani Malicdem, LT-Tourism Officer Valred Olsim, Barangay Captain Melicio Orid, Barangay Kagawad Tourism Officer Leona Otas and SH*TOGA President Aldrin Ciano.

Our proposal is set to enhance Tourism Development in Barangay Shilan with exciting projects including:

🌊 Pathway and photo platform improvement at Banganay Falls
♻️ 10 heavy-duty trash bins for segregated waste management, including toxic materials will be stationed along the road.
🇵🇭Sets of Benguet Ethnic Attires and Cultural Instruments
💛 "I Love Shilan" structure along Lamut-Shilan Road
🗺️ Durable Shilan tourism map
🚏 Improved signages
🔄 Convex mirrors for sharp curves
⛑️ Hard hats for safety

This project will be implemented and monitored by DOT-CAR, La Trinidad Municipal & Tourism Council, Barangay Shilan Council, and SH*TOGA and more projects for tourism development will also be implemented from different agencies-Stay tuned!Thank you for joining us on our journey to elevate Shilan as a model tourism village!

We kindly inform you that Some of the sites in Shilan, including natural attractions, are temporarily closed. Some areas are currently undergoing maintenance, while natural sites are scheduled for clearing and restoration.

For your safety and to ensure a better experience in the future, we appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time. We will provide updates on the reopening of these sites once they are ready to welcome visitors again. ( Estimated Resume of Operations November 1,2024)

🎨✨ Happy Indigenous People's Month! 🌿

We are excited to introduce Patawid Gyarari, the newest cultural gem in Barangay Shilan! Owned by Mr. Danny Ocasen, this gallery is a celebration of our Indigenous heritage, featuring stunning arts, valuable antiques, and cherished collections that tell the stories of our ancestors. It's a place where the past meets the present, offering a chance to immerse yourself in the richness of our traditions.

To mark this special month, Gyarari will be officially opening on October 12, 2024.

But there’s more! Hands-on workshops by D'Tukonors Inc. will be available, where you can learn traditional skills such as rattan weaving, Enabel weaving, woodcrafting, and painting. You can even try sunlight painting and many other creative activities. These workshops are perfect for anyone looking to experience and celebrate indigenous craftsmanship while creating something meaningful to take home.

A new spot in Barangay Shilan ❤️.

The Municipality of La Trinidad joins the country in observing the National Indigenous Peoples Month which aims to support and raise awareness of indigenous cultural communities. We would like to invite the public to join us most especially in our program on Oct. 18, 2024 at the BSU oval. Please be on your "Koval" and "Divit" as we dance the Tayao and share camaraderie and stories on the said event!
