Names of specific public spots and landmarks in Boracay (except for newly developed private sites) were given by our Boracaynon ancestors, which we now see as part of the island's history and identity. If we don't want Boracay to be called "Bora" because there's "Bora Bora" in the French Polynesia that has similar feature, why we popularize Lapus-lapus as Boracay Keyhole now?

There is no official document recognizing Lapus-lapus as now "Boracay Keyhole". Lapus-lapus means "tagusan" in Tagalog or "pass-through" in English. Isn't that a simple and beautiful story to tell our guests how our elders name it from? Let's not outcast our island ancestors, the steward of Boracay for the longest time, by renaming it. It's Lapus-lapus NOT Keyhole...or at least Keyhole of Lapus-lapus. Not Keyhole in New Coast. It's a PUBLIC LANDMARK, NOT a private property. That's even inside the 25+5 easement that belongs to the public.

Giving it a new name is like disconnecting our elders' affinity to Lapus-lapus while the current generation of native Boracaynon's pride is being shaved off slowly. They start to lose sense of ownership.

There should also be a public road going to the area as everyone should have a free access to all public sites. Thanks to NewCoast Boracay for letting the public utilize their private road to access Lapus-lapus...but the old public road should also be reopened.

A Boracaynon's wish is only to maintain its original name. It is a pride for us to feel the sense of ownership, to honor our island ancestors who named it "Lapus-lapus".

In other hand, there is also NO official document that states Punta Bunga Beach is "Station Zero" nor the Lapus-lapus Beach as "New Coast Station".

The Sanguniang Bayan of Malay has already initiated an act to preserve original beach names and landmarks of Malay and Boracay that we hope to protect our heritage, identity, and history.

Psychologist saying:

1. Kapag matagal matulog ang isang tao, malalim ang lungkot nya.

2. Kapag madami syang pagkain na kinain, means stress sya.

3. Kapag naman nagagalit sya kahit sa maliit na bagay, means gusto nya aruga, bigyan sya ng pansin, at gusto nyang mahalin sya ng mga tao.

4. Kapag naman OA or malakas syang tumawa, ibig sabihin malungkot sya deeply.
