The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has plans for a significant infrastructure project known as the Nueva Ecija-Bulacan Bypass Road (also referred to as the San Miguel-Cabanatuan Bypass Road). This proposed bypass aims to link the Plaridel Bypass Road in San Rafael, Bulacan, with the Emilio Vergara Highway in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija. The project is designed to improve connectivity, reduce travel time, and ease traffic congestion in Central Luzon by creating a more efficient route between Nueva Ecija and Bulacan.
This initiative aligns with the regionโs broader infrastructure development, including expansions like the Cabanatuan-Sta. Rosa Bypass Road and potential linkages to major expressways such as the North Luzon East Expressway (NLEE). These projects are intended to enhance transportation networks and stimulate economic growth by facilitating smoother travel for goods and commuters. The bypass road will also complement other expressway initiatives, creating seamless travel corridors from Nueva Ecija to Metro Manila and other regions.
